Totally agree on that. I liked the idea that was broguth up in the April LVI Contest: That, if the button is not pushed, the virus "comes back" again. I would like to believe that, whatever it is that will happen if the button is not pushed, is something really huge and dramatic. That's why the Dharma guys let the people push the button, to gain time... because to haven't figured out yet what to do about.. well, about whatever it is  |
Maybe, but I don't really think something like that would happen. Because I'm thinking about what Hobbes said about Henry, discouraging Locke from pushing the button. Why would Henry do that? Why would Henry want the whole island to be plagued and everyone's lives endangered, including the others? Maybe if they don't push the button, then the others can take over the hatches. Maybe the incident...is that the others were scientists or something that got plagued with a virus, turning them mentally evil or something. I don't know how to explain it. It seems farfetched, but...just trying to wrap my head around something.

It wouldn't necessarilly affect the whole island, especially if the Dharma dudes are taking the medication. And we don't know their motives with the Losties anyway.
I have a feeling that Dharma is behind everything, down to Locke's and Eko's visions, especially from the "You're special, John" (paraphrasing) that Gale said. They're playing them like puppets. |

Gale did sound weird when he was telling Locke he was special. I re-watched it and while Henry was saying, "I was coming here! I was coming for you!", he sounded really...fakely encouraging. Like Gollum to Frodo or something.

yeah  either that or they're watching them all, and he's seen how Locke thinks he's special (or better yet, he and Dharma are behind Locke regaining his legs) and he was trying to deliberately screw with Locke's mind, like he was doing before with Jack and Locke, to get a chance to escape or something... hmmm...
Though you might think he knew he had backup coming... so if so then why would he play with their minds?
One thing I'm pretty sure of, whatever he gave away was either useless information, or supposed to be given away to deliberately play with their minds/set a trap. |
