Kate did kill her real father, Mr. Austen was married to her mother but had been away until just before Kate was born. Wayne was Kate's biological father.

oh, i didn't know that, sorry, i just figured that that guy was her stepfather...did they show that on the "kate meets horse" (dunno the real episode name) episode? Or when..i missed the first episodes of the second season and we are only at the 12th episode down here...well, anyway, thanks for correcting me i learnt something new now *yay*
