.. The Very Secret Diarys... I haven't read those in forever!...
As for acctual books I'm currently tackling The Fountan Head by Ayn Rand.
Oh.. and I have to agree that Dumas is brilliant ... the Man in the Iron Mask is one of the best books ever... as for Hugo .. I prefer Les Mis over Hunchback... but thats just me. |

I've just finished speed reading an awesome, beautiful, heart breaking book about killer elves who go on an epic journey in a milk float (not really)
The actual book is 'The Girl in Times Square' by Paullina Simons - highly recommended.
Other favs include - The Black Jewels Trilogy
His Dark Materials
Sevenwaters trilogy
The Lovely Bones
Good Omens (gotta love Crowley)
Harry Potter 1-5 (i'm not going to get started on 6)
Oh, and Holden Caulfield is a God. End of. |

Hey! I'm glad you started this thread. There are those of us who still read a book!
I started reading the classics again, because I never really paid attention in high school and I have found that a lot of these books are well worth the time.
So far, I've read:
Madame Bovary
Tess of the D'Ubervilles
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes
Anna Karenina (talk about depressing)
Custom of the Country
Uncle Tom's Cabin (my favorite book!)
The Mayor of Casterbridge
Silas Marner
Grimm's Fairy Tales
David Copperfield
I recently read Memoirs of a Geisha and really loved it! _________________

Yeah I recently read Memoirs of a Geisha too. (mostly so that I could understand what the movie was about) The book is fantastic and definitely a must-read! _________________

Yeah, after reading Memoirs, a lot of things really made a lot more sense and it added so much more depth to the movie. Now I want to buy the movie! _________________

Oh, I loved The Andromeda Strain! It's been a while since I read that. I wonder if I could find a copy around here somewhere...? _________________

I'm re-reading one of my favorites... The Toy Collector by James Gunn.
If anyone here has read that... Well.... I'll do something surprising.
I recommend it. It's funny. But, it's also really really depressing imo. I think I read somewhere it's like watching a train wreck. |

If it's so depressing, why are you re-reading it? I can't read books like that, it's too draining. _________________
