I actually dont like concerts...the best one I was ever too was the first one, Radiohead opening for REM. That was like after Monster came out.

Im "people clausterphobic", I can handle small spaces but I hate being in a crowd...tiny clubs downtown are nightmares for me, especially if everyone's pushing...I feel like I cant breathe. Its horrible. But yeah I dont really enjoy concerts unless I know a FAIRLY good chunk of the music, or else it wont mean anything to me.

But god bless you guys!

I love concerts , but don't get a chance to see too many bands since they never tour here!

Heres what i've been listening to lately...

Hella (omg you have no idea)
The Advantage * (Elf-Titled!)
Rammstien (Rosenrot)
Gorillaz (holy crap, there is such a thing as good pop music!)
goat (amazing guitar player, aranger, and Castlevania lover!)
housethegrate (ditto)
Clutch
NESkimos
Horse The Band *
8-Bit Weapon (very sweet stuff)

* = saw them live!

I don't mind mainstream music... Gorillaz are pretty mainstream!

But a lot of it seems overproduced to me.... i dunno.. there are more creative bands out there.. its fun to find them.

Anyway, here's some more bands i love that are probably more widely known..
Led Zeppelin (classic!)
The Doors (classic!)
The White Stripes (why did i leave them off before?!)
The Presidents of the United States of America (yes they have new stuff!)
The Hives (good pop-punk)
Minibosses (op slipping back into small bands!)

Have you ever see the Gorillaz "perform" live? It's a bunch of holographs and cartoons. I've seen videos of them and their quiet entertaining.

Call it coincidence, but in the last week I just discovered these guys and I love them have all the music videos on my computer Because the songs are nothing without the sweet-ass animation Before that I thought they were just a rap band lol.

The Gorillaz are one amazing band, it is quite a sight to see them perform live.

If you like the singer of the Gorillaz, then you should chck out Blur. The lead singer of the Gorillaz is the lead singer of Blur.

I think I need to go into some type of concert rehab. It's seriously an addiction for me. Last night I saw:

The Starting Line
Cartel
Gatsby's American Dream
Copeland

I very much recommend TSL or Cartel for anyone looking for a new band to get into. Starting Line has been around for a few years now and Cartel is really starting to make it big. If you go to www.purevolume.com and look them up you can hear some of their songs.

Oh, and I have another band encounter:

That's the lead singer from Cartel. Ain't he a cutie?

I just bought the Arcitc Monkeys CD today, Ivy. I love it very, very much.

Also, I recommend Gym Class Heroes to everyone here. They're actually a mix of Hip Hop/Indie, but they make it work. Check them out!

In the mood to try some new stuff so...

Gym Class Heroes:
hmm, lets see.. they really have an Eminem type flow.. but with echo-y reggae drums. interesting.

Arctic Monkeys:
ah, more my style. Not sure about the british vibe, but the sound is raw and fast.. i dunno, they're a bit like The Hives (which i love) - but with a few slow songs thrown in.. They also remind me of Franz Ferdinad and Jet - two other bands i don't mind but can't really get excited about.

I love Gym Class Heroes because they rap more about normal life situations rather than bitches and hoes.

If anyone is into Coldplay-type sounding bands, I also recommend Augustana. They're absolutely amazing, but people into harder rock might not like them.

Just got back from an INXS concert tonight, first concert I've been to in about a year. Definitely the best show I've ever seen! Got a bunch of pictures, my concert pics usually suck but I actually got a few good ones. Here's my fav, hehe:

The singer, J.D. Fortune, he's AWESOME (by awesome I mean his looks and his voice, ) He even kissed me on the cheek! Saturday night I'm going to see Bo Bice. Wow, 2 concerts in a row!!
