Okay, I just downloaded Audacity, and now that I've opened it and tried to figure out some basic stuff, it's really confusing. The first thing I did was import episode 1 and it downloaded the MP3, making these two bars of really big tall waves. And then when I clicked the play button to hear what it sounded like, it suddenly played this FREAKY high-pitched fast staticy sound that made me scream and my heart jump up into my throat. What's going on??

And speaking of Audacity, I think we might need a tutorial to help us out a bit or something.

I think the answer is obvious: You're insane and those sounds are all in your head.

(No, actually I have no idea! Anyone wanna weigh in here?)

If youre trying to get DIALOGUE from an episode, youll first have to separate the sound from the video- Audacity is only an audio program. The reason youre hearing the screeches is because it doesnt know how to interpret the video thing. Heres a program that can separate audio from video:

Smart Video Converter (says free trial only but Ive had mine forever and never been bugged for a fee):

http://www.download.com/Smart-Video-Converter/3000-2194_4-10432322.html

Sorry about that! I primarily use it for MP3'S and WAV'S.

Thanks. But on the free trial, it tells me I can only convert 50% of anything I try to do. And I don't see any options about separating it into just audio files.

Hey I found this site:

www.fileboost.com

That allows you to search for different functions (some of them freeware!) in which there are a bunch of audio editors that split audio and video. Good luck!
