I wasn't mad, I hope it didn't seem like it. I've had way too many instances of people thinking I'm bitter and angry lately! I was more or less trying to say that I still don't feel sorry for him either way. Regardless of whether or not he's got a "disease." I understand what it is and I understand what it does to people, but making them not be held accountable for their actions only feeds the problem instead of fixing it.
For the record, have had this argument before but with different characters. I don't know what it is with me.
For example, in the Talented Mr. Ripley the movie tries to make you feel sorry for Tom and it just makes me upset. Why should I feel sorry for him? He is a MURDERER! And an annoying WHINER! No, I do not feel sorry for him. Haha. But when I talk to other people about it they will say, "No I can sympathize with him in a way." Maybe it is because I think myself and every single person has felt like Tom did at one time or another: Unwanted, not welcome, ridiculed, rejected. And I didn't KILL ANYBODY because of it. So yeah, that's totally an unrelated note.
I've figured it out. I'm just really mean! That's it! Haha. |

Hobbes- totally agree with you about the WM thing. Think its a trick- Mike is just blinded by his anger, guilt and grief and not thinking rationally about charging out into the unknown.
Im surprised no one has really said anything about the bizarro smoke. So theres just a puff of smoke that comes after you- kind of the "fog of regret". The Fog of Christmas Past? _________________

This is something that has been bugging me for a long time.....
Why the freak do these people not trust each other after being on the island for soo long and getting to know each other. It doesn't make sense, they don't even trust each other while their lives are at stike. The OTHERS are the ones you should be watching out for! Not each other DAM!
The reason why I brought this up now is look at MICHAEL-
What a moron! He feels like he's the only one he can trust do do things..
He's doing stupid things like running off to find Walt and talking to the computer, and not telling anyone..
It's not just michael, everyone needs to trust each other- Or they have already lost the "war" |

Just because theyve been together doesnt mean there is trust or maybe ever WILL be trust. And theyve only been there for like 6 weeks, supposedly. There are people there whom I dont trust and probably never will. Such is the way in any community.
Also doesnt anyone else feel like the show has stalled? I mean I just dont feel like its "mobile" anymore. _________________

Word, Rocksiren. I feel the same way. Which is pretty much the reason for my annoyance with the show this season. They are trying to drag it out for all it is worth which is turning out to be not that much! They don't have all the same writers as the first season and JJs all busy with MI3 (oh how fantabulous THAT's going to be... right) so I feel like it's just getting worse and worse. Unfortunately. |

Yeah first season rocked! Thank god someone else agrees with me. I just feel like the show is actually LOST and not really going anywhere. And come on with the stupid button- I hate it! Lab rats! Im just guessing, but the 84 Mac they have down there isnt going to last forever. So the fate of the world depends on the intergrity of the hardware in a tropical environment and DOS from the 80's? I have a computer I took when I went away to college with me- back in 2000. Its long been out of commission.
MI3- ha!! I remember this great joke the Daily Show told when MI2 was coming out-
"and the plot of mission impossible 2 was to figure out the plot of mission impossible 1". _________________

Okay so we're big talkers Rocksiren, but have either of us quit watching the show? NO! I like to call it the Days of Our Lives syndrome. It's an addiction. Deep down we really hope it proves itself to be the show it started out being, so we can't help but tune in for the next overhyped and underwhelming episode. Sigh. |

My first computer actually still works. I got it in 1994 and it's as limited as all get out. But it still works great as a word processor.
Its specs: 4 MB of RAM, 450 MB hard drive, CD-ROM (which was a stylin' accessory back in the day! ) and a 50 GHz processor. Its OS is Windows 3.1 and it runs WordPerfect 5.1, though it DOES have MS Works, a laughable prototype (I think) of Word, which insists that everything has to be in landscape view and your words run off both the left and right sides of the screen when you write and you have to constant roll the screen back and forth to read what you've written. (If there was a way to fix that, I never found it!) It also has the very first version of Windows Media Player, which is a bar with the play, stop, etc controls on it to play WAV files.
It still works, as I said, though you have to do a bit of CPR on it at boot up. And it thinks it's still January 1993. I don't have the heart to correct it. I guess it thinks it's Peter Pan and it's never grown up!
Does this trip down memory lane have a point? Uhhhhhhh, well, not really I suppose. Other than to say it is somewhat possible that the Hatch electronics could still be working. After all, don't they say that a lot of the air traffic control computers are from the '50s or '60s?

Oh, I forget to mention that! Yes it does! Though it's clunky, hard to move and kills your wrist. Same as the stiff keys on the keyboard! I have to wrap my wrists if I'm going to do a lot of typing on it or my fingers cramp into fists! I once had to finish an important document with the erasers on two pencils because I could no longer open my fingers enough to even "hunt and peck." So I just wedged the pencils into my fists and typed like that!
Ah, those were the days...
Oh to just have had to press an execute button... Now THAT I could've done! |

Well, I the thought of quitting the show had crossed my mind. Actually I find myself less enthused about it than I used to be on Wedensday nights. Plus I think of LVI and realize, I cant. I cant stop watching it.
And maybe I do hold a little hope that it will start to get better. Different writers- why? Hope springs eternal- just ask the 75 year old man who hits on me at work, while pushing his wife's wheelchair in to see the doctor. _________________

Lost is stalling? Yep, has been since Desmond left *yawn*. The tail section spin off didn't go anywhere. I though it was going to casue some sort of riff. Turns out Anna&Co just took the looooong ass route to walking into camp and introducing themselves as part of the gang.
Charlie is a dick. Should we feel sorry for him? should we hate him? I believe the more pressing qestion is WHO CARES.
Come on Lost! WAKE UP! So you showed us a little more of the monster.. now stop teasing and do something COOL WITH IT!
A little teasing is fun, but eventually you have to deliver the goods and so far Lost has been exceedingly poor at doing that.
True, i will keep watching. But to be honest, I'm dangerously close to losing interest. _________________
