Now, it's probably not going to be really hard to figure out what my discussion of this ep is going to focus on, huh?
I had to laugh about the whole "gayness of Jack" (note to Jack fans: that's not my phrasing... ) asking Sawyer those questions because this was one of the few scenes through the entire series that I thought really showed Jack doing something to actively pursue Kate - by trying to make his rival look bad.
But before I go on, first a word about Sawyer's answers.
I think it should be made known that the prostitute he was referring to was Julia Roberts' character from Pretty Woman, who was, as we all know, a socially and cinematically acceptable prostitute. Therefore, it wasn't nearly as icky as it sounded.
As to whether his non-answer to Jack's STD question actually meant "yes" like Jack said... Well, of course not, silly! Sawyer was annoyed (and naturally embarrassed) that Jack was asking these things in front of Kate. Who wouldn't be, all considering? So he was just getting out of Dodge, so to speak, without answering.
So, in summation, Sawyer is absolutely not a disease-ridden, prostitute-patronizing (Julia Roberts doesn't count, she was a hooker with a heart of gold understand? ) icky guy, okay? I have explanations for it all! Honest! Really, truly!
And now, if anybody wishes to disagree with me, I will now do what I did last night upon watching that scene: stick my fingers in my ears and say "la la la la la la la..."
Ewwwww... Go to a happy place, Aislynn, go to a happy place...
Okay, naturally I wasn't real pleased with the information given out in that scene but as for the scene itself and the following ones (Jack: (serious, ominous voice) You have hyperopia.), I couldn't help but laugh. I liked seeing a bit of spunk and humor from the good doc, even if it was at the expense of my clean, disease-free, morally-upright Southern boy. *fingers still in ears, la la la la la...*
And I SOOO agree, there's no way that Boone's going to be the character who's killed off. Unless they expect everybody to immediately assume that and so then it'll be a real shock if they kill him... But they probably know that we know they know that, so then maybe they won't kill him after all. But if they know we know they know we know...
Owie, my brain hurts. Going back to my happy place now, where Clean, Disease-Free, Morally-Upright Dimples roam the land... preferably shirtless and on a regiment of heavy-duty antibiotics...

No please! Let Sawyer have his shirt!
Speaking of "clean," Who else is utterly creeped out by sawyers duotone beard? I REALLY wanted Jack to lend him his razor. And after he's through with it he can pass it on to Charlie. (Whether Charlie chooses to shave with it or put himself out of his own misery with it, is up to him.)
It's good to be talking about the "important" things on the island huh? |

Who else loved that Jack was shaving but there was still stuble. I'm sure they were addressing that long standing riff on the show by saying the razors blow. But I still found it hilarious. _________________

PS - And I laughed about the whole "shaving yet still stubbly" thing, too! I always thought that was the real mystery of the Island: no one ever shaves, yet never actually grows a beard!
And sorry, SuperKC, I claim shirtless Sawyer priviledges as often as I can... |

I just had another theory. Maybe they've travelled back in time and Sawyer has AIDS! And they're not really on an island, they just THINK its an island. They're really in AFRICA! And therefore, Sawyer is the blue monkey! |

Ah no, Big E, we wouldn't put all the clues together until 8 years from now when Sawyer's already given this "sickness" to loverboy Jack, who in turn has given it to everyone else. (Blood transfusions, he's no playa!)
We'll find out the truth in the last 45 seconds of the series finale. |

lol ...and during the final end credits we hear the best AIDS song ever written:
Quote: | Everyone has AIDS!
AIDS AIDS AIDS!
AIDS AIDS AIDS AIDS AIDS AIDS!
Everyone has AIDS!
And so this is the end of our story
And everyone is dead from AIDS
It took from me my best friend
My only true pal
My only bright star (he died of AIDS)
Well I'm gonna march on Washington
Lead the fight and charge the brigades
There's a hero inside of all of us
I'll make them see everyone has AIDS
My father (AIDS!)
My sister (AIDS!)
My uncle and my cousin and her best friend (AIDS AIDS AIDS!)
The gays and the straights
And the white and the spades
Everyone has AIDS!
My grandma and my dog 'ol blue (AIDS AIDS AIDS)
The pope has got it and so do you (AIDS AIDS AIDS AIDS AIDS)
C'mon everybody we got quilting to do (AIDS AIDS AIDS AIDS AIDS)
We gotta break down these baricades, everyone has
AIDS! x 20 |

See, that new theory I found and posted in the crazy theory thread corroborates the AIDS/Africa theory. With the addition of some time travel and some gay lovin' I think we've cracked this sucker. |

I don't know if anyone said this, but I don't feel like reading 4 pages to find out, so I'm just going to ask: does anyone else think that the hatch might turn out to be a Pandora's box, of sorts? _________________ I want to make videos like Charmax and LAURA4LAD when I grow up.

If by "Pandora's Box" you mean the beginning of a worldwide AIDS epidemic begat by Sawyer himself, then yes.
But otherwise? Nope.
Interesting theory though. |
