OMFG! I just saw it. AWESOME movie! I loved everything about it.
Everything was great! All the actions, the drama, the effects KICK serious butt. And yet it's so sad, considering it's a love story between a Giant Ape and a woman. Naomi Watts was absolutely, stunningly beatiful and Kong was so real. My friend Kyle actually had tears running down his face at the end. LOL
Hands Down, Best Movie Of the Year!!GO SEE IT. _________________

Glad you liked it Nate. I myself haven't seen it yet but me and my family go the movies every year on Chritmas night (we started going when the first LOTR movie hit the theatre a few years back and now we've been going ever since ) and we were thinkin' of either seeing this movie or The Chronicles of Narnia. Still haven't decided yet. lol. _________________

I'm going to see ot on Saturday, so reading your post Lostzilla made me realize I made a good choice I had to choose between Narnia and King Kong, and I guess I made the right one, huh? _________________

Haven't seen it yet. I dunno if I'll be able to before I go to NZ. Hey, maybe I could just go to the movies over there.
I watched the original last night. Bloody hilarious. Kong and the other monsters all look like they came out of Wallace and Gromit. Still, good story. _________________

My sister went to the midnight showing of Kong, and she said the equivalent of basically what everyone else is saying (bloody fantastic, bawling at the end) but she lost a lot of sleep. I want to see it as soon as possible!! She said it would make me love Peter Jackson 100x more (even more than I already do) and Andy Serkis.
In a 15 minute special on HBO they showed clips I haven't seen, and despairing distraught Jack Black in the jungle looks almost exactly like Sam (Gamgee). HA!! |

Somehow I expect this to be ;incredibly better than Narnia, though I haven't seen either lol. Good to know it still has substance, not just a bunch of special effects, because that's what the trailers seem to point it as. Thanks guys, now I want to see it more!
Also: Andy Serkis? He's in here?!?!!?!? Awesome! Golem had to be my favourite LotR character you knwo me and the bald, mysterious, slightly-evil ones |

Which is exactly why Andy's soooo talented. He did the facial expressions, gorilla quirks, roaring, shouting, laughing, snorting, everything!!!!! He said that he went to a zoo to observe apes and gorillas for reference. And what's almost just as fascinating or more is how they morph every single second and detail of his actions into computer King Kong, which looks so real. God bless Peter Jackson, Andy Serkis, Philippa Boyens, heck, everyone I can think of! And I haven't even seen the movie yet!
I might see it tomorrow. I really hope so. _________________
