I was browsing through the Gossip Girl section on fanfiction.net when I noticed an OC fic with the same name as mine. After reading the description and seeing way too many similarities I opened the story to see that it was indeed my story, reuploaded to this person's account.

I inboxed the person but have recieved no reply. Although this is the only story on the account I thought I should warn you guys that there is somebody stealing stories!

Contact fanfiction.net (either by e-mail, or using the form at the bottom of the plagiarised story). They'll usually remove the story fairly quickly. You could also drop by http://stop-plagiarism.livejournal.com

That's terrible.

I don't get why people steal others stories and vids.It's like they don't respect the hard work that has gone into the creation of them.

That's EXACTLY what it is Macaila. They DON'T respect the hard work we put into our art.

I don't understand what is so rewarding about getting praise for taking someone's art. They aren't really praising the person who stole it; but the work itself.

And Becca. I am SO sorry that someone did that to you; that's just wrong. I hope you get it taken care of.

That's horrible!

A girl in the Lost fandom stole one of my chapters once. She rewrote it (mine was Jate and she took it and used it for Skate) so I could never prove anything but the idea, the scene description and the dialogue were almost exactly the same. I PMed her about it and she replied saying she had never read a Jate fic in her life but I don't really see how it could be a coincedence. Especially since she takes all of her plots from movies and other shows.

It's really aggravating. I agree that you should make some kind of complaint (if you haven't already). Surely it's against the rules? I hope you get some kind of resolution.
