Mine works just fine. That's too weird. I went on and posted 'test' on my page. I don't know what's going on with LJ.
It did lag a bit; but it worked. |

Livejournal is down because they have been Currently experiencing a DDoS attack for the past two days.
"We can now publicly disclose that we have been experiencing a large-scale DDoS attack the last two days, which has been the reason for the site issues most users have been experiencing. The traffic load has been immense, at many times our normal load level, and the attack is still on-going. We are in constant contact with our providers to mitigate the attack as best as possible. We again apologize for the disruption to LiveJournal usage, and are working to get everything back to normal as soon as we can. Thank you!" This is from LiveJournal's page.
"A distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS attack) is an attempt to make a computer resource unavailable to its intended users. Although the means to carry out, motives for, and targets of a DoS attack may vary, it generally consists of the concerted efforts of person or persons to prevent an Internet site or service from functioning efficiently or at all, temporarily or indefinitely. Perpetrators of DoS attacks typically target sites or services hosted on high-profile web servers such as banks, credit card payment gateways, and even root nameservers. The term is generally used with regards to computer networks, but is not limited to this field; for example, it is also used in reference to CPU resource management." |

Okay, is anyone else still having issues posting entries?? I can do everything else just fine, but when I try to post one of my TV show memes it's not working, which is SUPER annoying because that is a LONG post that I'm going to have to redo. _________________

That sucks!! I know they've suffered from these attacks before but this is the worst I've seen it.
At least you guys can log on! I have no idea what's going on in LJ Land atm It worked for a split second earlier - long enough for me to log in - and then it went off again straight after! |

Just shows how relentless online attackers are.
I can log on but I haven't checked my page yet. So I don't know what I can and cannot do.
But if you can't do something it's probably because the attacks are ongoing and that LJ are still trying to fix it. |

I can still see entries but can't reply, post my own entry or respond to PMs. Here's hoping they get those DDoS attacks conquered soon! *fingers crossed* |

It seems to be working now but it says my post is too large. Anyone know if this is my fault or LJ's?? If it's my fault....GRRRRRR. _________________

Yeah, it's working now
Hmm...well, if your post IS large...like very large...then I know it comes up with that message, but it's only come up for me when I post a fic or something which has a large word count. It's possible it might be LJ messing up but I haven't had that trouble with the 2 posts I made today :S |
