The guy who played Horace on Lost (who is 51) married a 16 yr old.... how is that legal??? even if it is... its really really really really really really gross.

Ewwww, I know!! I read this last night! Aparently her parents are all for it too, they signed some paper which gave her permission to get married to him.
Really great parenting, seriously.

I heard this on the radio this morning. They said she might actually be older than 16 and it's just a hoax for him to get publicity, but whatever, they are still married and she is still way younger than him.

I am sorry but a 16 year old CHILD is not ready for marriage. I call teenagers children because that's what they are, I thought of a child when I was 16, she is not mature physically or mentally enough to handle this, and the parents...I am disappointed in them and in the actor. They're all old enough to know that this is wrong.

A parent should protect their child, this in my opinion will just be harmful to the child.

Frankly I can't believe this was allowed.

I just read around and the don't think the marriage is the publicity stunt, but that her age is. She doesn't look 16 at all; she looks to be in her mid 20's.

So if it is a stunt it's that she's not really 16. I don't think even parents can sign something to get their child married. If a judge can stop a parent from naming their child 4 Real they could probably stop them from allowing this marriage; because you have to have a marriage certificate.

OMG, I didn't realize that was Horace! I saw this on a friend's facebook page and we had a huge discussion about it. Apparently she's an aspiring singer so there is some thought that the parents allowed it because he has Hollywood connections and thinks it's a good career move. YUCK! I hope the rumors are true and that she's really older than 16. I saw a video she did (in the fb thread) and it was really really awful. And she definitely doesn't look sixteen, so I really hope that's true.

What's so weird is I *just* read an article in National Geographic about child brides in developing countries, and though it's allowed to go on in a lot of places, most of those countries do have laws against it and 16 is still considered "child bride" even in those places. So it's super freaky to see it happen here, for sure!

Yeah she looks a lot older then 16, and I hope that is the case. Someone even thought she looked to be about 30.

If she is 16 that's just awful that her parents would let her do it. Parents are supposed to protect a child, and when a parent fails; who is going to step up for her? Because to me 16 is a child.

But what man would really WANT to marry a 16 year old kid. You can't be happy. What would they even have in common?

Yeah, that's what I meant, Brooke, that her age is what they're lying about. I haven't seen pictures of the girl, but I suppose it's plausible. Either way, why would you want publicity via something like this?

If it's a lie it doesn't surprise me that they'd try to get publicity out of it.

I mean how often do people do awful things to get famous? With Reality Shows and how a lot of the younger celebs act. Not that shocking that they'd pull this.

I'd rather it be a joke then the truth.

Bones creator Hart Hanson said it best. "If talk bad about the show they're still talking about the show." Which meant that even if people hated it they were still giving it some sort of publicity.

To be honest it shows laziness. HH is the laziest creator I know because he doesn't care what the publicity he gets for Bones he just wants PUBLICITY for Bones.

That's how a lot of people are these days. Instead of producing something good they don't care if it's something bad because someone/everyone will talk.

Yeah I agree with Brooke, the old saying goes that "no publicity is bad publicity" so I definitely think that she is older than 16 and that it's a stunt to garner attention to her bad talents. I looked at her pictures on her page (what I could get to load on my ipod) and she really does look quite a bit older than sixteen. I would say she's probably trying to get some reality show. A classic case of a fame whore.
