I got an email from this person and so I could tell it was a spammer they were sending me a link to something; I never clicked on it; put it in my 'block folder' and then put the actual email into Spam.

I got antoher one; blocked it AGAIN; spammed it. Same thing keeps happening ALL the time now. I have this account blocked but they still send me emails. It's really frustrating.

I don't know how to get them to stop. I don't want to reply to these people, I just want them blocked and not able to email me; but obviously that's not a possibility.

I even checked; like some people have thousands of emails that look like their first one; but this is the same one. It's weird.

Who's your email provider? (Hotmail, gmail, AOL, etc.) If the emails are coming from the same address, they should be able to block it. However, if they're sending them from similar-sounding but not quite the same emails, that's how they're getting around your block (like if they're coming as spam01[at]hotmail, spam1[at]hotmail, spamm01[at]hotmail).

The main thing that I've heard is for you not to open them. Once you do that, they can have it set so that they're informed as soon as you open it, even if you don't click on anything in it, then they know they've found a valid email address and they'll sell your address to other spammers, grr. And there are also viruses and malware that can launch from an email just from you opening it as well, so it's best to just delete it instead of opening it (or mark it as spam or whatever your provider has set up for you to do).

Anyway, I'd suggest checking with your email provider and seeing if they have a Help section with information on what to do in cases like this when you keep getting hit by spam like that. Hopefully they'll be able to help you to get it stopped, 'cause that's mega annoying!

I opened it...twice. I didn't think any harm came to opening them. Just not clicking on the 'link'.

I figured out my issue. I blocked User@aim.com their user name is User@Aol.com so I blocked both of those.

It's AOL. I tweeted the Aol.com twitter but they never sent me anything. They wont provide help for non paying clients for support; which I think is major BS. If they're going to have a site like that; they should have to help. But that's AOL for you.

Oh, I didn't mean to scare you, sorry! As long as you have an anti-virus program, it would hopefully catch anything that would've tried to launch. I've just heard that it's best to not open any sort of suspicious email, better safe than sorry, as the saying goes!

Hopefully you got them blocked now so they'll leave you alone! *fingers crossed*
