ok... first of all you guys ever been in love cus if u have, you'd understand them. I mean whats so wrong if they are really in love? It's their business anyway. i really dont give a damn bout the whole scientology thing, i'm just...prolly in love. LOL _________________

*hugs Vicki*
I know, some people just don't understand. My aunt is the worst. She had a traumatic experience a few years back (some guy committed suicide right in front of her), was understandably shaken up, went on anti-depressants, then went off them after a few months when the experience stopped being so traumatic so she's all anti-medication now. I've tried so many times to explain to her that I just don't work that way! She treats me like I'm weak and pathetic because I depend on medication to feel normal.
And Jaime, some people can go on meds just for a little while and come off them and be fine (I wish I was one of those people). I know several people who have done that (ie, my aunt). I think it makes a difference whether your depression is caused by things going on in your life or by a chemical imbalance. Not sure if that was the case with you but that's my theory
I'm one of those chemical imbalance people (because I really have no logical reason to be depressed) so every time that I've tried to go off my meds, my depression has come back with avengence. So I've now accepted the fact that I'll probably have to be on meds for the rest of my life and I'm OK with that.
Wow, we're going kinda off topic
And Nate, I've been in love, I AM in love (hell, I'm practically engaged), I know how crazy it can make people act but Tom and Katie are pushing the "in love" thing a little too much. It strikes me as suspicous that everything they do has to be some big public thing. Shouldn't they want to keep their relationship out of the public eye a little bit? I mean, I'm not even famous and a lot of things that go on between me and my boyfriend are not things I'd share with people. That's BECAUSE I love him and because I like having things that are just between us and nobody else.
Did you READ that interview with Katie? It's like Katie doesn't have a coherent thought in her head anymore, it's all Tom!Tom!Tom! And yes, I suppose being in love can do that to people, but she wasn't even able to answer any simple questions. It just strikes me as a little bizzarre.
If they ARE really in love then fine, good for them, maybe I've misjudged them. Just all these rumors (Tom "auditioning" young starlets--both of them promoting new movies at coincidentally the exact same time they get engaged--Katie's new "best friend" following her everywhere--plus many other things) makes me suspicious of their motives. Maybe I'm just cynical, but I would think that they would be a LITTLE bit more discreet about this. Most couples in the public eye acknowledge their relationship and talk about their significant others but don't put on a complete public spectacle like these two are doing. It's all just a little too much. _________________

Amen again RW...
Yes, I've been in love. Yes, I've been engaged. Yes, I got over it.
If they truly are in love, then more power to them. At first I was all, who cares, good for them. But then I read Katie's interview, and I was just She's a freakin robot!!! Plus, some of the things Tom's said before?
Tom on Scientology: "Some people, well, if they don't like Scientology, well, then, fuck you. Really. Fuck you. Period."
Well, no I don't. I'm sorry if I am an intellegent human being who has faith in a religion that's different than yours.
Then Tom sez: "I use it (Scientology) and I apply it and when you talk about things, those are lies. And really, when you get down to it, you know there are bigots. There are people that just want to hate, period. No matter what. Right?"
Um, yeah, that would describe the statement you made earlier.
Tom on Brooke Shields: "Here is a woman - and I care about Brooke Shields because I think she is incredibly talented - (but) you look at where has her career gone?"
Uh... yours isn't doin so great there buddy. (yeah, yeah, you can think what you want... I'm offering my opinion. Personally, that last TC film that I saw that didn't make me want to shove a power drill thru my skull was Interview with the Vampire, and I liked it for Brad Pitt! Vanilla Sky was horrible, and I luv Cameron Crowe's work, I was cheering on Colin Farrell in Minority Report, I snored thru the Last Samurai, if it wasn't for the kid, I would have got up and walked outta Jerry Maguire, and I have no reason to waste my money on War of the Worlds.)
Tom on Women:"[Women] smell good. They look pretty."
(Cavetroll voice): Tom. We have woman. She smell good. Woman! You dance! Dance for man!
Here's my disclaimer on this whole issue. Don't get your knickers twisted if I think there's something wrong with this whole thing. Key words: I think. I'm offering my opinion. Honestly, I don't think Katie's in love with him, I think she's been freakin brainwashed. And I have evidenturary (sp?) support:
(From www.scientology.org)
The E-Meter
The Electropsychometer, or E-Meter measures the mental state or change of state of a person, helping the auditor locate areas of spiritual distress or travail so they can be addressed and handled in a session. The E-Meter does not in itself do anything to a person. It is a highly sensitive instrument that reacts to changes in mental activity.
That is actually FROM the scientology website. I checked it out last night. Quite insightful, especially the levels. Go read them closely...
Level 1.1 is listed as Covert Hosility, yet the woman in the picture is clearly smiling! Whatever. I'm done with it for now...

not really, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I don't think badly of you Naters for standing up and voicing your opinion, it takes a lot of guts to stand up and say your mind, even if you don't completely agree with others are saying. _________________ Get Ready to Disappear...

Not that I wish this on anyone, but karma's a bitch, so let's hope, for her sake that Katie doesn't wind up getting post partum depression!
Because you know Tom would never allow her to, you know, DO SOMETHING about it! Aside from taking vitamins of course _________________
