|
|
I had a custom setting that I used for awhile that was working for YouTube, but the last couple videos I rendered at that setting are both showing completely differently on YT and neither of them take up the whole viewing window. Anyone have a tried and true rendering setting/size?
The one I was using I either got here or YT, so I don't know if they changed something or what.
Thanks for the help!!!

Ok, now I'm having a new problem.
I have tried everything. EVERYTHING! I can get the video to render out to the size it should be to play on YT. When I play it on WMP, the size is exactly what it would be if displayed on YT.
However, once it is uploaded to YT, it shrinks down so that it is surrounded by black on all sides. I am completely and utterly baffled by this. I have been through the settings and can't find anything, and if I click between 360 and 480, nothing happens.
Any ideas why YT is shrinking my stuff? *is confused*

I have the same problem Julia. I can never figure out the right size to make it. I hope you figure it out...but if not, I think it still looks fine. _________________

Have you tried looking it up in Youtube's help section? They used to have the specs for the exact size that would fit their player. Then, of course, they changed their player size to some goofy just-off-of-that ratio...
I actually just render my vids at whatever size my original footage is and I'm happy enough with that (since half the time it's just going to be muted or disabled anyway ).
Not bitter, nope, not me...
Ahem, anyway, sorry I don't know the answer to that. My best suggestion is to check out what YT has to say about video size and then maybe try out a few different sizes on some "test vidlettes." Just put together 20 or so second long bits at different ratios and see if any of them should fill the player like you're wanting them to. If you can't get them to fill it out perfectly though, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I can honestly say that I've never heard one person complain, "Your vid was great but, man, that sucked how it didn't fill out the player on all sides!" Anybody who's a vidder knows that YT is prone to just resizing their player, willy-nilly, so there's not really much we can do about it. ♥! |

You too, eh?
Mohammed's Radio... denied at Youtube.
The Imposter... denied at Youtube.
And yet the older Zevon and Costello videos I did are still up. Makes no sense! _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.
