hey guys, ya i posted it on the site talk thread too, sorry for the double post. but ya i can't enter cuz i'm a canadian

. it wouldn't been perfect for me, and a really good oppurtunity to get my name out there too. i downloaded the assets tho, the sounds of what they gave us are pretty sweet, they isolated the dialogue as well, along with the smoke monster sounds, which might be useful for me in the future, most definitly

Great job on your promo Kim, I really liked it. It took days for my promos to show up on the site too.

the guy who did obsession was fabulous and I too have said I think he can take it all...but then my mom said it doesn't really promote the show exactly...it promotes the fans and their obsession with hints of the show...but if you never saw lost, if wouldn't do much into getting somone to watch...but i dunno, she is prob just being nice to make me feel better b/c i still think it has a chance..lmaooo

But the thing is promos are not for fans. This guy I know, his best friend works in Los Angeles with movies. He said that Promos are for the people who don't watch at all or don't watch regularly. ABC knows that fans are already going to watch, and their goal is to attract new viewers, even now.

Promos are not for fans because they reveal too much, for instance they reveal the end, they don't explain it they reveal it.

I thought the video "The Obsession" was well done, but I didn't think it was strong as a Lost promo because I found it more of a parody, that to me seemed to be making fun of the fans. I didn't see it as a Lost promo that is trying to get people to watch. I didn't buy it as a Lost promo.

I made 5 promos to enter in the contest.
The first one was called Character Reflective and is under the name Macainickle (that's my ID at The Fuselodge)

This is my personall favorite.I was able to use Sony Vegas/Windows Movie Maker to do it and the other 3.I wanted this one to have some blink and you miss it clips like they do it the real promos.

Did anyone else think it was unfair that when you used ABC's editing tools you did not get all the clips that you did when you downloaded the clips?There were no romance clips on ABC and a few of the iconic scenes and dialogue scenes were missing as well.

I thought some of the clip choices were strange.Kate's my favorite character so I wish they'd had better clips than just her turning her head.And where were Desmond and Penny and PB&J.I love Jate and Skate but Desmond and Penny are the ultimate Lost couple.

I'm surprised that Sky one and other international channels that air Lost are not getting involved with this contest.I don't see why they couldn't run an identical contest open to their viewing audience and reward a prize to them.

I had alot of fun making the promos.It was a nice challenge.

"Convergence" by Sam Balcomb

I thought his video conveyed what LOST was about. I think they did a great job of executed it.

I liked the Obsession video, but I saw it more as a parody and not really showing us what 'Lost' has been.
