I work in a video store so I get to see movies for free and before anyone else gets to see them. So I got the chance to see Garden State before it came out and I couldn't wait for the DVD release date so I could actually buy the movie. We got like 3 copies to sell and we ended up hiding all 3 for employees to buy when it was released...lol. It is a very well done movie.
I've seen so many good movies that I can't even attempt to list them all. But if you're into hardcore independent there is a DVD I just rented today (we get DVD's a week to two weeks in advance) called "Acts of Worship" and it's about a heroine addict and a recovering heroine addict. I thought I would hate it but I got to watching it and there are spots where you can see the grain of the film and there is so much texture and feeling to it that it's great. I thought I say a couple different film stocks and I watched one of the behind the scenes things and I was right which means this thing has some incredible film texture. Okay, sorry that was my film major rant...lol. I get excited when something so independent actualy gets contracted for DVD distribution. It gives me hope for my future career...lol. Anyway, if you're into independent projects I recommend renting it on the 22nd when it comes out. _________________

Laura I'm gonna smack you for making me spit up my water all over my keyboard and monitor! (never mind I'd never hit a lady)
That was hilarious. My favorite part!

You've just confirmed my suspicions about the rental places. Next time the counter person says sorry sir we're sold out of that copy I am going to say Lier! What about the 3 copies you're holding for yer buddies? |

oh goodie a top 10 list ...cool
here are my fave movies in not particular order
- donnie darko
- seven
- the matrix
- the ring
- american history x
- stigmata
- LOTR Trilogy
- moulin rouge
- a beautiful mind
- fight club
- the mummy (1+2)
- almost famous
hey has anyone seen or heard of chopper.. it was pretty much eric bana's breakthrough role here in australia, just wondered if anyone else knows much about it, being an aussie movie and all. i strongly recommend it...
(except if you don't like violence, gore and really strong language... i would then strongly recommend not seeing it.) _________________ Pirates 3 - MAY 25th 2007!!! |
