Lyrics!
The Imposter
Trying to be too bad, trying to talk too tough
Trying to Jack-the-lad, you'd think he'd had enough
But he's not the man you'd think that he can be
I just don't know why you can't see
That he is only the imposter
Never been this far; always been too smart
And you know all our boys are really girls at heart
But he's not the man you'd think that he can be
I just don't know why you can't see
That he is only the imposter
When I said that I was lying, I might have been lying
Never let me hear you say you're not trying
This is your big decision: Hope you're not disappointed
He's got double vision when you want him double-jointed
And he's not the man you'd think that he can be.
I just don't know why you can't see
He'll only bring you souvenirs
It's only gonna end in tears
And he is only the imposter _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

This was fantastic, Kate! I think it's my favourite of yours. Brilliant beat use and excellent song choice too! Suits Sawyer well! Excellent job! |

Thanks, Jemmz--glad you enjoyed it! The song is 100% Sawyer (if a bit mean to him--but most of my Sawyer videos are pretty sharp to the guy, anyway).
Glad you thought the beat use worked--it's got such a strong, circus-y piano riff AND drumbeat that I had to figure out how to balance the two.
I've had this song in mind for him for a while, anyway. And The Substitute was kind enough to provide me with a couple of the necessary lyrics I was missing! (If you know who Joe Jackson is (the British singer, not Michael Jackson's dad), the song was originally written with him as the target.) _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. That was very cool! I loved that flipping back and forth from color to the sort of glowy black and white look, that worked really nicely! And of course the song choice and lyric interpretation was great; I was particularly fond of "he'll only bring you souvenirs" for some reason, lol!
That definitely fit Sawyer really well and you handled the tricky beats in a clever fashion. I enjoyed it a lot! |

Thanks, Aislynn--glad you enjoyed it, although I figured you would. If there ever was such a thing as a sucker bet... Well, that would be a poker hand even Hurley would be able to read. Hahaha.
It's a fluffy little thing, but it was fun to make, because the lyrics fit so closely. Not a lot of hard work to hammer in line readings, to say the least! _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

Ooh, I loved this! So fast paced and fun and I love the song too. It really worked well for Sawyer, and the lyric interpretation was cool as always. I liked the thing you did with the flashes too. I'd work on making the beat use/clip transition a bit smoother though, sometimes it seemed a bit random or jumpy, but that could be because the quality I was watching it in wasn't very good. lol Anyway, good job. I liked the black and white thing too. _________________

Hey Allie!
Which one did you watch? One uploaded a lot better than the other for some reason, although I can't find out behind dialup. Try watching the other one (and let me know which one is less sketchy if and when you do, and I'll point to that link in the first post.)
Thanks for the usual lyric use badabing. _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.
