I am working on a video using Sony Vegas and I need to know how to do a color effect.

One clip I am working with is when the marshal arrests Kate at the bus stop in What Kate Did.I would like to do a color effect that would only effect the marshal and not Kate.

How do you add an effect to a clip but control what parts of the clip it effects?

If it were me, I would have the clip copied to two layers and then cookie cutter Kate out of the top one. So copy the clip exactly and put it in the layer above, then use Cookie Cutter or Mask to on Kate, then add the effects you want on the marshall on the bottom layer. Or, you could do it the opposite way and Cookie Cutter the Marshall
