GOD. Why Daniel? For awhile, I thought it might be Des dying this episode...honestly, I might've prefered that, as much as I loved the Despenny-ness in this one.

So sad about Dan. What kind of cold-hearted bitch is his mom? She's an evil woman....

I hope we see some of Sun, Sayid, and Ben next week - they're the only characters left I REALLY REALLY LIKE. Jin and Hurley are adorable, but not my faves.

I was really upset at first, but now, I really don't think Daniel is dead.

Theory:

Spoiler: For one, there's the Comic-con video that they filmed at the same time, which features Daniel behind the camera of Pierre Chang. The incident is going to happen, which is going to make Pierre Chang believe that he really is from the future. They're sending a video through time that is saying that they have to restart the Dharma Initiative, which is probably the reason Ileana and co. are on the island. I doubt that the producers and writers would change their story so drastically, as to remove the fact that this video ever existed because of lack of funding for their whole lost experience thing. They spent money to have that video made and released, and that is undoubtedly Jeremy Davies' voice behind the camera. It would anger people to have this become inconsequential to the storyline.

His odds of survival are pretty good being that there's an excellent, first class surgeon only ten feet away hiding in the bushes, and they made a point to mention in the episode that Jack was NOT supposed to be back in time, which means that Daniel probably originally DID die. Now there is a variable, which is Jack. He can save Daniel.

The theme of this year is reincarnation, which is why there have been so many fake outs this season.

Dan still has work to do! His story is incomplete. The writers never kill off such a key important character. Chopping block people would be Juliet, Sayid, or Miles. Because their stories have already been revealed. Until formatted into the storyline again, they have no purpose at the moment.

Richard Alpert was desperate when he spoke to John Locke about bringing all of the Losties back to the island. He said that they have to "save the island". I doubt that Eloise would be stupid enough to send her son back in time if there wasn't some small chance that he would survive.

I think She can not see the future right now because it is uncertain.
Don't forget that she also sent Jack Shephard back to the island. There's no logical reason why it would be so important to send her son to the island just to tell them how to get rid of a bomb, being that whatever happened, happened, that would just course-correct. He has something important to do, which had to do with his "work" that she kept pushing him to do. He's the only one that will be able to get the Losties back to their rightful time.

I for one, missed Ben! lol, Sorry, he's my favorite!!

Is Daniel definitely dead?? That can't be! Sucks too much for words..clearly because the next promo shows Jack and Kate picking up where he left off.


I already knew that Charles Widmore was his dad as i accidently came across the spoiler on Lostpedia *head-desk* But the chain of events that led him to being shot, really makes me hate his mother. Also if she is quite young in 1977, how old was she in 1956!!??

Daniel talking to Charlotte as a girl nearly made me blubber!! so sweet and so sad at the same time!

I wonder if we'll ever hear about Richard's story. Because his is long over due.
