Ok so I haven't had any problems with Vegas Ever! But now all of a sudden, when I open up my video file, i get these error messages and then it shuts down. And when I finally get it up and running, I go to render and halfway through another error message comes up and shuts the whole program down again.
Has anyone ever experienced this? Is there any way for me to fix it without loosing all my project files?

Ugh that sucks Morgan! Hmm, what do the error messages say? Sometimes I get error messages and my Vegas shuts down but then it only does it occasionally and when I load it up again it works fine

ive had issues like that morgan. my advice is to open your project if you can and then open a blank Vegas projet and just copy everything over into the new project and try rendering from the new one. that helped me with one that refused to stay open :S

Oh, that's SO frustrating, Morgan! Are you using any new episodes/source footage? They could have some sort of trouble in their encoding that's causing Vegas to spazz out when it encounters it.

I hope you can get it fixed! *crosses fingers for you* ♥!

I'll try that Kat, Thanks!

Ais: I'm using Roswell clips. But I've ripped from my Roswell dvd's before and there wasn't a problem.

My version of Vegas isn't totally legal but i was wondering if i were to uninstall it and get it again, would I loose all my project files or would they still open up when i get it back?

That sucks! I haven't had Vegas very long but I've run into a few problems already. I had one that would get stuck opening the Vegas file, it would freeze when it got to a certain source clip. I dunno if that's what yours is doing, but I changed the name of the source clip, told it to skip it when Vegas gave me the "missing file" error, then renamed the source clip and relinked it and it worked just fine.

Hope you get it worked out!

let me know if it works for you

my version isn't totally 'legal' either, but i know awhile back before i got this version and was running with trials, i went from vegas 8 to 7 and the projects wouldnt open. if you used seven again in theory they should be fine but im not sure, it might be like when you move a clip and then it asks for it when you open a project, but im not sure

Yeah, that's what i was thinking. I don't want to try it and then be screwed, you know....

I'm at a loss as to what i should do. Now it's not just the one vid, it's happening with all of the projects i try to render.

It was working for a bit, eariler but it stopped just before it was finished rendering and hasn't worked again since.

I think I'm just going to let it sit for a while, maybe all day tomorrow. Sometimes it fixes itself if i take a break from using it... or at least it used to.

Thanks for all your suggestions guys... i just wish they would have worked.
