Ok, so my little sister is doing this thing for her school project, I guess for geography, and it's called "flat travelers". My mom asked me if I could get some people from other countries to help her out, so I figured I'd ask. It really is a cute idea.

Basically, 'the sender' draws a person or animal, cuts it out, and laminates it. In this case, my sister/me (since I've been roped into this. lol jk) will be doing this. We thought it'd be fun to do Lost characters, so we'll end up with Flat Hurley, or Flat Sawyer, or Flat Kate etc. hehe Anyway, the point of this, is for her to learn about other countries. She will send her "flat traveler" to another country, and the person she sends it to writes a paragraph or two about their country and takes a couple pictures of the flat traveler in said country/with them, then sends it back or to the next person on the list, until eventually, the envelope is filled with pages and pictures, and the flat traveler has been all around the world by the time it gets back to us. If you want to send little things, like leaves from a special tree that ONLY grows in your country, or a special shell that you've only found on your beach, or maybe a penny from your country, that's all good, you can do that as well.

I thought that it would be awesome to see if we could get LVI members in on this. I know you guys are busy and have lives, but if you think this would be fun, go ahead and say so in the thread. It shouldn't be too time consuming. We plan to do this in a couple months, so I have a while to get a list together. I'll PM the "volunteers" so I can get your addresses, and organize a list.

It'll probably be in a padded 8 by 10 envelope. The shipping shouldn't cost much, but if it does, my mom says she'll open a special paypal account and try and find a way to cover it/reimburse you guys. I will also arrange the list in such a way that (if we have enough people) the participants won't be sending the envelope an incredibly long distance, preferably to the same country, except for a few exceptions, so it's cheap enough to still be fun.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. If you want to be added to the list, just tell me, and I'll start one right away. Thanks guys! My little sister will be REALLY happy about this.

Once you're on the list, you can still back out, but once you get it, or you're next on the list, you HAVE to commit to sending it back to us or to the next person because we want to make sure my sis gets this back. We'll probably do a couple different 'travelers' and have a few separate lists to make sure this happens, and to make sure that you guys have to pay the least amount of shipping as possible. Thanks again!

LIST:

1) Freya
2) Nikki
3) Samara

That sounds so cool...but I do live in America...and I dunno if my parents would be thrilled with me giving out my address. I'll try and think about it, tho! If not, then have fun with this, everyone!

We'll figure something out so the whole world isn't aware of where you live, but whatever your parents choose. I wouldn't want you to give out your address without asking.

That's cool that you live here, I want to get a couple different people from a couple different countries. A few from America is ok, as long as you're in different states.

Yeah.. I'm in Sassy - I'd love to teach your sis all about the crappy UK! lol.. It all sounds very complicated but I'm guessing it's more simple than it sounds. As long as you make it all clear to me, like, exactly what I'm supposed to do then I'm sure I'll get it eventually.

Basically, when it gets to your house, take a couple pictures of it in England so my sis can see what it looks like etc. Also, write a little bit about England/your life, whatever really, and keep in mind that this is for a 10 year old's school project. xD The point of it is for her to learn about other places, so you can write about what it looks like, the weather, etc.

If you want to go all out, you can take it to restaurants/the cinema etc or some place like that and take pics of it with you and friends, whatever. And if you want to add something, like a penny or something really little into the envelope, that's ok too. Just something that will show her about England. Basically, you do however much you want.

Keep it for a couple days to a week, then send it to the next person on the list. I'll give you the address when you need it.

So, no more takers? We've only got 3, and I'd love a few more, possibly from other countries, but we'll take whatever we can get. I know it's a little kiddish, but it could be fun.

We've decided on 'Flat Hurley' btw.
