I need help with one thing: How can i put one clip and at the same time put other clips so they are faded? I can't really explain it so therefore i show pendoras video as an example (i hope you don't mind ) If you look at 0:26 you can see what i mean! |

I think I know what you mean.. well you make a new video track above the original and put the clip you want to fade above it then position your mouse pointer directly at the top of the clip and you can pull a little line down by holding down the left mouse button at the top of the clip to turn the opacity or transparency level down on the top clip so it fades into the other one. Hope that helped. _________________

I have another question ; I'm finished with my video, but almost all my clips have different border sizes - is there a way to change the border size so all the clips will have the same without changing the size on EVERY clip? It will take a loooong time to do that...so i hope that someone can help me with this! |

to stop you having to change every clip; you could render the vid, load into into a blank vegas project and then change the border on the whole vid cos it's like one clip; then it would all be the same size
what you do is click the pan/crop button. up at the top is a window that says 'Preset' with a dropdown menu. select one of the ones there or you can make your own and save it. I'd recommend using one of the ones that's already there, Widescreen or Academy _________________

That's exactly the way i always do with my vegas movies, but the video always gets worse quality when i render it twice. So that's why i asked here to see if someone knew another way to make all the clips have the same border size! Anyway, i rendered it twice now and it didn't get bad quality!! |

yay! glad it worked. i would recommend rendering the first one in better quality so that it looks better when it's rendered a second time ;P _________________

ok; i am having a hell of an issue.
at first i thought it was my computer but ive tried repeatedly only opening vegas and it still happens. When i render and its saving; all of a sudden this weird static like thing comes across the screen, then it freezes, then my computer restarts itself. this blue screen pops up before it shuts off and has all this stuff that you dont get time to read but from what Ive seen it says something about a problem with software. i have done nothing new with vegas in about a year so i havent altered anything; it just started effing up. Help me!!!! _________________

Hmmm Kat that's really weird, my brother had the blue screen before and my dad had to take it to his mate who helps us with computer problems and it's been down one of two of these reasons: either a virus or when using a laptop the needle has moved. But that's all I can think of and I'm not sure why it would be doing that if it was the same thing with Vegas |

Yeah, does sound annoying Yeah try a virus scan if it still doesn't work maybe a system restore to an earlier point before all that happened?
If none of that works, I'll get my dad to ask his mate see if he knows what's going on with it |

Yeah, sometimes they help
Yeah, I didn't really know much about them until a couple of years ago, they don't affect your files, the only things they will affect will be say you've downloaded a new program like today and if you were to restore to a couple of days ago you would lose that program, or if you changed your wallpaper it goes back to what it was. It just changes your setting back and can be helpful when you have program errors But no they don't affect files, and if you're not happy with the restore you can always undo it |

Oh, Kat, that sucks! I hope you get that sorted out soon! Have you added any new codec packs or put on any other new programs recently? Sometimes it can be something totally unrelated that's messed things up! Also, if it does it again and you can jot down any part of the error numbers or message that it gives you, that's something you can search and will often give you a clue as to what might be going wrong. (I keep a notepad and pencil handy by the computer just for that very reason.)
I've had terrible luck with System Restore, not with it messing anything up, but every time I've tried it, I get the same message when the computer restarts: "System Restore failed; this computer could not be reset to an earlier date." Well, then, what's the point of System Restore, then if it never works??? I know it's saved a lot of people but I've never gotten it to work right for me, unfortunately.
Good luck, hon! |
