I doubt that many LVI members are members of solely LVI so I thought this could be a place where we share the other communties we're a part of (Sorry if this has been done before)
It's just, it can be hard to find your LVI friends on other sites so I thought this might make it easier.
For example, I am a member of the following sites:
Myspace - Freya Price/captainfreya@hotmail.com (My username is usually Captain Freya but I tend to change it quite a bit)
Facebook - Freya Price/captainfreya@hotmail.com
deviantART - CaptainFreya (I'm new to this one)
LiveJournal - captainfreya (I rarely use this cause it boggles my mind, but I hear good things about it - maybe one day I'll figure it out and use it more)
You can also add me on MSN if ya want.. I'm a very friendly individual.
If anyone else wants to make themselves easier to find or just wants to share a cool forum or site with us, that'd be ace. _________________

I'm on:
fanfiction.net: http://www.fanfiction.net/~frostpaw
deviantArt: http://hobbitrockgod.deviantart.com/
I do have a facebook...but since I'm paranoid I'd prefer not to post it here, sorry. Might get a LiveJournal at some point if I decide to figure it out, lol.
Edit: I added Freya and Emma to my friends on dA. _________________

Simmers Against SecuROM - http://securom.sublimesims.net
Simmers Against SecuROM is the one I'm devoting the most time to right now as it involves an important concern for people who play The Sims 2, Mass Effect, Bioshock, among other games that the SecuROM copy protection is placed on. It's invasive, malicious and has been known to disable firewalls, anti-virus programs, cause DVD/CD drives not to work, and have caused people to have to do a system reformat.
We're currently working a letter writing campaign to EA (Electronic Arts), and if that doesn't go how we're hoping, we'll start taking legal steps to begin a Class Action Lawsuit.
Don't know if any heard, but Mass Effect was released with the newest version of SecuROM and was still cracked in less than one day. Copy Protection will never work 100% but there should not be a program that is so invasive to a computer user's privacy. SecuROM was designed by Sony DADC, many customers using this program are Blizzard (makers of WoW), 2K, etc. Sony BMG was hit with several lawsuits back in 2005 over using a similar program in their music CDs.
If any are gamers that are experiencing problems with your games and discover that it is SecuROM, I urge you to join SAS and help us with the steps needed to get this program off our games. |

EA = Evil Assholes. I'm not surprised they pulled crap like this . It's worth mentioning that a large portion of Vista's high RAM requirement (i.e. it won't goddamn run without 2 gigs) is because of anti-piracy software. Specifically, they wanted to prevent people from being able to rip DVDs and games unlawfully. They realized that no matter how secure their DVD drives were, since all that data just goes through the line from the drive to the CPU, all a person has to do is hook up some wires and intercept that data, and they can rip those dvds no problem! SO, to solve that, they decided to encode and decode EVERY byte of information that goes from the CD/DVD drive to the CPU. Which, needless to say, takes a huge amount of wasted resources.
And then they called it Vista .
Needless to say, those paltry anti-piracy measures have been cracked already anyway . Sooo.. all that's left is they've screwed over the average user who just wants to use their goddamn computer.
That's Microsoft/EA for ya... |

I'm not too paranoid, so here are two other sites you can find me on (A LOT):
Myspace - http://www.myspace.com/nepenut
LiveJournal - http://nepenut.livejournal.com
I'm moreso paranoid about people I actually know (and/or don't like) finding out about these sites. And people from work too.
But internet people are fine. I've got a friends only lock on both, so you can message me and I'll add you. _________________
