I just want to clarify that I had not watched any of the recent Desmond/Penny videos prior to posting mine. Now that I'm watching the others that have been uploaded this past week, I see that I am one of a few that used the 04x05 footage at the end with sound, and I'm worried people will think I copied. I truly didn't. I got on here two weeks ago when I started my video to see if anyone else had made one to this song. My video was almost finished by the time I found out 04x05 was going to be a Desmond episode, and I held out finishing it knowing there would be new footage to use. The end of that episode was so touching, it seemed natural to include it, which I did in a very uncreative way compared with everyone else. But, I am just feeling a little sick right now afraid I look like I copied the idea from one or any of the others who did it. I truly didn't.

Julia, your video is gorgeous! I love your song choice! It sounded like an Irish or Scottish song which I thought was cool, considering that Desmond is Scottish! I loved how you put a lot of the clips in slow motion b/c it matched the tone of the song so well. I literally had chills the entire time I watched this! Great job! I loved the ending and I'm giving you gold!

Don't worry about it, seriously, no one's going to think you copied them. I actually thought that it was very original. There are so many vidders on this site, you were bound to have the same idea as one of them. lol
This was really sweet, I love Des and Penny! Great Job on your first vid! I hope we see more from you!!  Welcome to LVI!!!

Thank you guys SOOOO much!!!
The people here at LVI are the BEST!!! I was so stressed earlier, both with the nerves from sharing my first video publically, and with concern over that clip, but everyone has been so nice and incredibly reassuring. I am nothing but psyched, now, to spend more time on this site, learning from everyone and enjoying everybody's work.
I already have my second video in mind, which is another one I've been planning for ages and haven't seen anyone do.
Thanks again for the nice comments. This totally made my day!!!

Oh, that was lovely! I'm really surprised that we haven't had any Loreena McKennitt songs for Desmond because they just seem to fit him very well! Anyway, I enjoyed it a lot and, like I said over in the other thread, don't worry at all about having used that same scene!  Welcome to LVI!  |

That was so beautiful, a perfect song for Penny. I can understand, the new ep. with the new Des/Penny stuff is perfect for an ending, and you didn't copy anyone! This was really, really, lovely for a first vid!

That was wonderful!
The song choice was lovely and just perfect for this vid.
Don't worry about copying, you didn't. This vid was totally you're own. There are always so many vids, people are going to use the same scenes sometimes and this scene was so beautiful and so powerful it inspired people to vid with it you included!

So first of all, love the artist. My only crit is being on the same clip for too long if there isn't audio or it doesn't fit a "story" like in an AU. That said, the song worked well for DesPenny, and this was beautiful

| Thanks, Eggy! Yeah, that's a lesson I had to learn the hard way. It's funny, because when I go back and watch this video, I have a soft spot for it and I still love it... but it almost *hurts* because each clip is so long and I know they should be shorter. Anyway, I really appreciate that you saw its beauty anyway. Thanks for the feedback!!! |
