been meaning to post this here for awhile. just put the trial of vegas 7 on my comp and used the keygen so it lasts, but i cant seem to acess any of the audio effects. when i click on a piece of audio and go to 'apply non real time fx' there's nothing in the little window that pops up; all the folders are empty. is this a glitch or have i simply not clicked somethig in preferences? _________________

Ooh I had this problem last week what I did you know how you get the option to update your vegas well update it, which I think you can download if from their site and then when it gives you the option about registering from another computer click that and just keep the html document on your computer
Hopefully that helps
ETA: The part of the sony updates is: Help > Sony on the Web > Latest Updates |

Alright everyone, here I am back with another question! Sorry!
So how can I make it so the end of my song fades away rather than cutting? _________________ <3 Jourdan

All you have to do is fade the clip out like you would a video clip. Go to the end of your song and put the cursor up by the top right part of the end of the clip. It'll change to this weird little half-circle-ish symbol (great description, huh? ), just click and drag it back and you'll see a line appear going up and down on the clip as well as a line making an arc from where your cursor is at to the end of the clip, with the peaks of the song getting smaller and smaller the farther back you drag it. That sounds completely awkward the way I'm describing it, sorry! Hopefully you'll see what I mean, though, when you try it! The farther back you drag it, the slower and softer your fade out will be. If you decide you don't want the fade there any longer, just click on the up and down line and drag it back to the end of the clip again and that will remove the fade. |

Do you have Vegas 7? Because Vegas 8 only opens the video track of certain vids, whereas Vegas 7 only opens the audio track Maybe they'll be able to fix this whole thing with Vegas 9, whenever they release it
Anyway if you have Vegas 7, the only way I know how to open .avi files is by installing the "K-lite codec pack" google it, the program is free. Once it's installed, the program has a thing called "Four CC Code Changer". When it's opened, you simply drag your clip on the little box that opens and change the code and the codec to "DIVX", then you click apply and close the program (you should be able to open the clips with Vegas afterwards with absolutely no problems).
Hope this helps. Otherwise, search through the archives - I think there was a tutorial here on LVI on how to use the pack.
If you have Vegas 8, I don't know how to open both tracks (the pack doesn't work with this version!!!). My only solution would be to have both Vegas 7 and 8 installed and then use whichever depending on your needs. I was stupid and I erased Vegas 7 when I got 8, and now I wish I would have stuck with 7, sure 8 is faster, but at least you can use the pack to fix the .avi problem. |
