yeah kat I use Super. It's free and can convert any video file into any format you want.
Scrool all the way down to the bottom of that page and there's a download link:
Hope that helps! |

As far as I know, Vegas will import .MOV files... I converted a bunch of camera .MOV files into .WMV for a friend a while ago so she could use them in WMM. Unless this Quicktime isn't .MOV, of course. *large over Ais's head* |

Ah, bummer! Sorry that they won't load into Vegas! Hope you're able to get Steph's converter thingie to work!
As for reading the extension on them... While you're in the folder where the files are at (in other words, when you can see all of their names), you can go up to Tools - Folder Options - View then take the check off of "Hide extensions for known file types." Click okay, then look at the names of the files and you'll see their extensions. If it's Quicktime, it should end in .mov. I recommend going back and putting the check back ON "Hide extensions for known file types" as soon as you're done because if you don't and you're used to saving Word documents or whatever with just the name of the file and not adding .doc at the end, it'll be an unusable file! (Ask me how I know that... Ahem. )
But that will work to give you a quick peek at the file extension if you ever need it! |
