I use bravehost. I really don't know how they compare to everyone else. But, I've never had problems. And yes, they support SQL. I've used them for, um, I really don't know how many years now. lol _________________

Hope everything works out. |
Did that/ am doing it lol main bad points so far are that they don't fully deliver the 2 TB of bandwidth every month - but that doesn't apply to us - and that they're not as great as others with server reliability. That's a red flag, but I think it might be more about stuff on their end as opposed to problems from us going over the pitiful limits, like here at iPowerweb. It's like... they have such high limits that they sometimes crash while working hard to keep them so high - but that's their problem - whereas iPowerweb just keeps the limits low so they don't have to worry about it, then blames anyone going over them...
Oh yeah, another mitigating factor here is the other day iPowerweb actually suspended us for a day (but of course, you can't really notice lol ). No warning, no anything, and I had to do a major trip through all the support staff just to find out what it was about (tech support says it's not their problem, passes me on without any info . Lovely)

Oh, they all support SQL. I was just hoping for one that specifically specializes in it above all others. But no biggie. |

I get suspended but only for a few minutes...usually if I exceed the bandwidth and max the server. Only happens if I'm uploading content tho.
Who does Lost-Media use? YOU KNOW they get a huge amount of traffic. I wonder if they use SQL. |

lol, yeah they decided to kick us for some random little thing we've had since the beginning, but they just noticed now

I bet they're on dedicated servers, since the ___-Media string of websites is all run by one company (yeah, they ain't no fan-run-sites)
And they ALL use SQL lol. If there's a forum or database or anything, it's SQL.
And just for interest's sake. I registered for Dreamhost yesterday. I'm now working on setting it up to transfer LVI to it . But don't fear, there's a 97 day money-back guarentee, so if it doesn't work this thread will still be useful lol. |
