OMG!
Damien is coming to a festival near my town, and I sooo wanna go! Has anyone here ever been to a Damien-concert? The tickets aren't exactly cheap, so I was thinking of seriously considering going to this festival before I make any decision.
Is it worth all the trouble I'm gonna have to go through? _________________

I just got back from a concert of his here on monday, and it was one of the most amazing nights of my life. Damien was absolutely genius once again. Many of the songs were majorly remixed (to be even BETTER) and he was hilarious when he talked to us in between them lol . Overall, it was just magical. He proved to me once again that he's a freaking musical god. And he wins back his rightful (and probably permanent) place as my "favorite singer of all time".
As for price, it was the kind of thing I would gladly pay $200 for. Though thankfully for me tickets were only $45 lol. I was lucky though, because he decided to have a second show here right after the first show sold out (and a few days before it sold out, the last tickets there were like $200 each), and I snagged two tickets at $45 each.
If you want a summary of the entire run-through of the concert I could get you it - I just wrote it up for KC (and my own memory lol). 2 hours and about 17 songs (including the 3 song encore) of magic.
And if you don't go this time because the tickets are too expensive (I bet you missed their release date and are stuck with the overpriced ones only, huh?) then make sure you make an account on Ticketmaster and don't miss it next year LOL |

lol No actually I'm not stuck with those expensive last-minute tickets - this is pretty expensive from the beginning (about 600 kronors; 110 dollars + travelling a couple of miles to get there).
Unfortunatley Damien's show is on Thursday that week (all the other artists performing that night are no good in my opinion), and The Ark's show is on Saturday... so I can't see both of them the same day, which would have been great. But Damien goes ahead of The Ark since The Ark is coming to my hometown in August, and I've already bought tickets to that, so
But ...then of course, I have to find someone to go with me, and I kinda have no friend that likes Damien. I mean, I have to go there by bus or something and I'm sure my parents won't let me go there by myself (and that's the part about me having to go through living hell to see Damien). And they don't like him at all... so.
Warren, wanna go to Sweden?
Well, well, I hope I can see him sometime, I'm hoping he'll be back for a festival near me... lol. This is the festival BTW, http://www.peaceandlove.nu/ ....
But I kinda felt like I have to do this when you said it was one of the best nights of your life. Had you ever seen him before that? _________________

Nope, hadn't seen him (or any real concert other than some kinda unknown artists at PAX every year lol) before that. But that doesn't really change things from being awesome lol
I had the same problem of having nobody I knew who liked Damien. I ended up just buying 2 tickets, then going to a group of my friends and just saying "anyone like Damien Rice?", and asked the person who liked him most . But I'm pretty sure whoever you get to go would love you for it lol.
But no pressure... when it's that inconvenient it really isn't worth killing yourself over .
I wish I lived in Sweden LOL |

I just find it kinda funny that I found an oppertunity to see Damien live, the same week you saw him live for the first time
I bet it was totally awesome. That first time you see your favorite band or artist, it's something special about that, I think... magical.
*dreams about going to that festival* _________________

LOL it's true . Before this concert I was kinda fighting between Ryan Star and Damien Rice, but... nope... Sorry Ryan, but Damien's got the official spot now
As far as coincidence... yeah it kinda is LOL He just started his North American tour, but since you're not in North America.. yeah, coincidence indeed! |
