Apparently the producers are discussing an end date for the series, so they can plan for future episodes.
And it looks like it might run for seven seasons. This is when the actors contracts run out.
I don't know if any of this is trues but it's what I've heard....
What do you guys think?
I love LOST and I would be quite happy for it to go that long.
But out of my love for the show I have to say that it should only go on for that long aslong as it's still good stuff.
Nobody wants to watch a TV show that has overstayed it's welcome. Although as it's LOST I still would. |

The longer, the better for me as long as it's good. The writers keep coming up with new and interesting spins on the show. I am sure it can go for longer than the proposed five Damon has mentioned before. No need for a zombie season though _________________

Totally agree with you.
I always thought 5 seasons seemed too short but I don't want it to drag!
I'd probably still love it though! |

5 would have probably been just right, 7 is just about the amount they can get away with without making it outrageously overdone . I mean, this is still one storyline being dragged out here. They don't just get to start over with a new enemy each season (*coughBuffycough*) so it means a hell of a lot more strain on the writers, and us viewers. Not too many shows have that sort of problem, and so they can get away with tons of seasons .
I have some dreads that the 7 seasons will be a bit too much, but I HOPE that they can pull it off without outstaying Lost's welcome lol . Though of course, by that time we'll all be so dying for the final answer that they could drag out the show as many seasons as they want . |

I think Lost for seven seasons would be a bit much. I mean, I would LOVE it if they could continue coming up with innovative ideas, but there's only so much they could do. And even in seven seasons, they would still only be on the island, according to their time, for no more than a year (if not less) which is hard to believe.
I don't know. We'll see, I suppose. _________________

i think theres alot about when lost is gonna finish now on the net because the producers have said they want to make around 100 episodes and when the get to the end of season 4 they will be near that amount
i think it could go on for about 5 seasons as much as i would love 7 seasons i think it would be dragging on |

Ditto, but moreso I hate the thought of Lost ending, and me not caring . Or worse, feeling relieved

Really? I thought those were the best of them all. I LOVED how they went artistic and tried to shake up a lot of the eps, like that one that was all silent. But yeah, the generic, normal eps were a bit boring still (and stupid Dawn certainly didn't help things). |

I loved Buffy in it's later seasons too. I think thats the only TV show I know that hasn't lost any respect by going on for a long time, except Friends.
Anyways, I think 4 is enough for me. I want them to make the seasons good and like Warren said, it would be a strain on the writers to keep the Others/Dharma/Island plot going which wuld mean the episodes might not be so brilliantly written:? _________________

I mean much later, Warren. Like after the Musical (which was a really amazing idea that worked out great). But I hated most of season 6 (Spuffy ) and Season 7 was really disappointing as a final season.
P.S. Hated Dawn too. _________________
