Oh sorry if I offended you KC... this might be a language thing. English is not my first language. Sorry. I didn't think what I wrote was offensive and I didn't mean to offend anyone. Sorry again. What I meant to say and I hope I'm not going to offense anyone here is that Claire knew how much Charlie loves her... if she didn't feel something for him, something strong enough not to be attracted with the first cute guy that comes by, then she shouldn't have kiss him at all.

It just that as big of a PB&J shipper that I am, I sometimes felt like Claire might not be that interested in Charlie. I still wonder why she took him back after that whole lying and baby stealing bits.

And yes, someone can get lonely after 3 years but it's still the memory of Penny that kept Desmond alive all those years. And when he thought he was going to die, when turning that key was "I love you Penny". The way they portrayed this was like this epic love story... I kinda liked that... That whole "one true love" thing would get dampened with Desmond showing an interest in Claire, IMHO. This is only my opinion of course and I understand people not agreeing to it and I don't expect to change anyone's opinion. I'm just stating mine. Did not mean to offend anyone.

Nothing you said was offensive Cylune, I really don't see how it could be

Ok so you're saying if someone that you showed an interest in (as Charlie does which is pretty clear) didn't tell you they weren't interested in being more than friends (since people tend to make that quite clear in the world I live in) and then kissed you quite sweetly and not in a friend manner, suddenly just turned round and went off with someone else you wouldn't be hurt? Honestly?

Claire could be declared to be leading Charlie on in such a situation because she didn't clearly say she didn't want to go further and she did things to suggest it was going to develop.

I wasn't offended PERSONALLY I was just offended by the whole concept. I didn't mean to make it seem that way. I haven't read anything past "I'm sorry I offended you" Just wanted to make that clear. LOL.

Going to read the rest now.

I'm not going to get into a whole debate about Claire's intentions. But I do think that if she were to develop feelings for someone else, no matter who, that it wouldn't be like she maliciously "led him on." Regarding Charlie.

I just don't like the whole "she's a tease if she starts liking someone else" idea. It seems kinda sexist and old-fashioned.

I love you all please don't don't think I'm mad because I disagree with you guys.

I think that if you kiss someone you know is madly in love with you and very shortly after you take interest in someone else, it's going to look bad regardless of if you're a man or woman. I don't think I was being sexist.

My take on the whole thing...

I love the idea of Daire as an AU ship but they would need to satisfactorily explain Penny/Charlie (ooo, another AU ship! ) if they made it canon. I'd be kind of annoyed if they just suddenly have Claire over in Des' tent, hanging on him while he flirts and calls her "sista" *pause for "awwwwww" moment... sorry * and meanwhile Charlie and Penny wander around with giant over their heads, along with all of the tv viewers...

The point being, I could accept it if they gave us some actual character development that showed Claire finding herself torn between Charlie and Des, some scenes with Des being torn between the memory of the woman in his past whom he may never see again and the here-and-now woman on the Island with him, that sort of thing, then I'd be fine with it. Just a sudden "Oh, look! It's Daire time!" with no explanation wouldn't cut it with me.

Basically, I'd just like to see Claire get some genuine screen time again! Not just "Look! There's Claire on the beach! Now, moving along to this week's exciting episode of 'Who the heck are Nikki and Paulo supposed to be again?'" I'd love to see her be INVOLVED in things again, not just standing around like a prop:

"Palm tree, palm tree, Claire, palm tree..."

Grr Paulo and Nikki

Yeah I want to see more done with Claire. She never does much at all really. One episode in the whole of series 2 where she did anything. A lot of characters are starting to suffer that. Sayid hasn't done a great deal of late either, Hurley's done nothing since getting back, Sun and Jin aren't doing a lot, even in passing. And then we get Fag-and-Tramp pushed like they're important. There's only two reasons to look at Nikki and that's it.

Okay so Im going to tread lightly on this one...I feel that Claire "likes" Charlie (whether romantically or as a friend) simply because he was there and wants to help her. Honestly, thats it. he has gotten a little mental as of late however.

I wonder why I care so much. They're only tv characters, I shouldn't be upset about it. But I do for some reason and it's wearing me down. *sigh* I need chocolate chip cookies and ice cream.

Do you mean the Sun incident? Do you have the same opinion about Sawyer? Because it was his idea in the first place. He's as responsible as Charlie. As for the baby-stealing thing he's not the first one to act irrational after getting weird dreams. Locke and Eko did acted irrational also.

Sorry you don't find more qualities to Charlie.

And sorry for being off-topic. Do how about that Daire scene? How do you think Claire got into the water like that?

ETA: Sorry for being so irritable today. I just had an overdose of : "Charlie is a useless character and needs to be killed off" and thousands of variations of that (not here though). I should really keep to my Charlie-safe places. *returning there*

Believe me, I understand that feeling. That was me right after "I Do" when I couldn't throw a stick without hitting another "Kate REALLY chose Jack and this is why" discussion! It really began to make me feel sort of exhausted because here, when I should have been celebrating my ship, all I was hearing were negative things!

That's why I have great sympathy for C/C shippers: you guys get zip from the writers AND get a ton of disrespect from other shippers as well. It's not fair, IMO. None of the characters on the show are perfect. Sawyer, whom I love down to the last cell in his bad boy body, has done his share of despicable things but I can forgive them because I adore him so much. (Kinda like in real life. All your friends can see the faults in your boyfriend but YOU don't because your view is colored by how you feel about him. )

Anyway, I would imagine that that's how C/C or Charlie fans feel about him and the things he's done: you understand his reasons and/or you can just plain-out forgive him. Same as how Sawyerettes can do for Sawyer, same as Jack fans can do for Jack, Kate fans for Kate, and so on...

*gives chocolate chip cookies and ice cream to Cinthia and all C/C and Charlie fans*

Back on topic... Daire: STILL one of my favorite AU ships! I'm really looking forward to this ep so we can finally see what the heck is going on here! Why was Claire out having a little swim by herself? *ponders* (Maybe to escape the hordes of Claire Cult shippers... )

Sorry- I wasnt really talking about the whole Sun thing, I meant just his demeanor. I agree with Ais about CC'ers, and I dont think Charlie is a useless character and I wouldnt want to see him get killed off, just for the record.

The writers messed with Charlie in the second series. Fair enough throw a spanner in the Charlie-Claire machine but not in the way they did.

Thanks for the Sympathy and food Aislynn, though Kate really did choose Jack Heh heh
