Alright, not really. I love you all, honestly.
Here's the thing. It's really important so listen up. When I was little, my dad wouldn't let me watch the Simpsons because, like... Bart backtalked to his parents or something. I'm not sure, I had no idea why because I was never allowed to watch it, y'see? And so to this day, I still have never watched the show and my dad still calls it "Disgusting Filth" Obviously, he's crazy.
So, am I deprived? Should I go rent the DVDs right away? Or have I not missed much?
If it makes it any better, I have an Indian friend named Apu who does a great impersonation of the guy on the show. (Without trying that hard, imagine that.)
Welcome to Qwik-E Mart, would you like a squishee? Thank you, come again. |

Uhh... just as a question: what do you watch NOWADAYS? Chances are, against anything on tv nowadays, The Simpsons are the holiest, most family-central show there is . Most people would answer that the Simpsons isn't that great, because they've probably seen every episode like 3-4 times, so they have grown completely bored with it, but if you look anywhere, the Simpsons have become a key feature in modern culture . When it was first going on, the simpsons ruled the cartoon universe. It was the funniest thing on television.
So yes, you don't know what you're missing. I suggest you turn on your tv and start watching. No, you don't need to rent the dvd, because the first episodes aren't something you need to see to understand the show, nor are they what defines how good the rest of the show is, so you should just go with the randomizer and watch tv. I bet anything you won't run into the same episode for a month or so LOL |

Long ago in middle school, I really loved The Simpsons. In high school I kind of shifted to South Park which continues to be a great animated show. I still watched The Simpsons off and on until about Season 12-13 or so when every epsidoe seemed to be getting more and more un-funny.
That seems like so long ago - I'm amazed it's still going really. I still love the classic seasons ( i think 4-8 ) when Conan Obrian was writing. Those are all so great. But like i said, I haven't watched it hardly at all since season 13 so I can't say anything about the current shows.
Nowadays though, Family Guy rules all IMO. The chicken fight in the last episode was incredible! and the Star Wars ending? YES! Perfect. Long live Family Guy. _________________

Yeah, that's pretty much the scale of events:
Simpsons > South Park > Family Guy
each of them getting trashier and trashier, and USUALLY funnier and funnier, depending on where your invisible line for trash is |

I have watched bits and pieces of southpark - but never can stomach it much. It's just not funny to me. |

hmm, I'd say South Park is quite a bit less tasteful than Family Guy. FG does a few dirty jokes now and then but SP goes so far it's rediculous.
Did you see the Woodland Critter Christmas? dear lord. _________________

lol. pretty much. The story is Stan befriends some woodland critters who actually worship Satan and are planning to resurect the Antichrist by sacrificing a jew (Kyle). They trick Stan into killing the good mountian lion who usually kills the antichrist after it is born, so Santa has to come in and help Stan kill the antichrist via an abortion.

I haven't bothered to read any of these posts yet because I'm lazy, but I saw something briefly about South Park. It is the greatest of all greats. I have two words... Awesom-O 4000.
Simpsons has many many moments. But minute for minute South Park is the shit. _________________

There's ONE redeeming feature of that story, and it's that the entire thing is a christmas story by the little sadistic fat kid that everyone on the show hates So it's not like they're saying that kind of story is okaaaaayy or anything
And let me just say: "Chicadee-ey, the chicadee"
And Familly guy is way up there though. South park and Familly Guy are pretty damn close I think....
but yeah, the Simpsons is FAR from there. |
