Maria, I hope you don't mind that I started this thread. I know you wanted to do so it, but I think it's about time that this hot Scottish guy gets the admiration and appreciation he deserves.

I'll leave the thread name like this until we've decided whether we're Desettes or Desmondettes.

Every fangirl (and fanboy, too, of course ) is welcome to talk about Desmond, Henry Ian Cusick, Dope, Date, Daire and every other Desmond-ship here, to post Desmond pictures, fanart or fanfics.

AP Puts Forth The Argument For DESETTES

Let's face it - the more abbreviations in today's language, the better it seems to be for the majority of the population. Online and in text messages, abbreviations such as 'lol', 'tb' and 'wuu2' run riot. This love of abbrevs (see what I did there?) has run into fandoms as well - it seems to be the very reason 'ships' were created. No one wants to say 'Jack and Kate' anymore, they want to say 'Jate'.

I am not one to speak out against abbreviations. In fact, I think they are a good way of communicating, as 'lol' can mean many different things (and save letters when you're typing a long text message and don't want to run into two because you don't have much credit left on your phone). Which is why I put forth the case for calling us raving Desmond fans 'Desettes'.

'Desmondettes' just doesn't have the same ring as 'Desettes' does. Saying his full name - though every lovely Scottish syllable is pure gold - just doesn't sound as good when you're referring to his adoring fangirls, which is why I issue this plea - Vote for 'Desettes'!

I voted for 'Desettes' myself, like AP, it just sounds catchier even though the name Desmond is very sexy by itself.

As for a name I thought Desmondettes sounded the best at first, but after some time I think Desettes is probably the better. Rolls of the tongue easier.

And I think I definitely qualify as a Raving NameToBeDeterminedLater because not 30 seconds ago, I was typing the date and realized I had typed Desmond 12, 2006! So clearly you know where my mind was! (On that same theme, I kept trying to type the layout name "Flexible Squares" but kept typing Flexible Sawyer instead... )

Anyway, I'm loving all the Des pics, Kaja, Ashleigh (yay, Santa Des! ) and PC!
