7.5 - good song to listen to while doing something, or for a vid. But I couldn't stand actually paying attention to it for very long *is bored*

heh, here's one:
Yoshimi Battles the Evil Pink Robots Part 1.

(played by the cellist from Damien Rice's band. Thanks to KC for giving me this song (and others) )
better than the original imo (judge for yourself)
I haven't been in this thead in a while, have I? Sorry, I've just kinda run out of songs to share that you all haven't already heard a million times . Though I do have one artist I bet none of you have heard and is simply fantastic (psst). But that's about all I have left.

lol I just checked this one and that was great 9!

okay, gonna start with the Ryan Star, until there is at least one person who's a fan lol. Or until I run out of good songs. Either one.

First up: We Might Fall (warning: slow song)
http://media.putfile.com/We-Might-Fall---Ryan-Star
(or the live version, but the moron who put it up recorded the commercials with it so skip the first 40 seconds or so)

You got a fan in me
Seriously, that was really good.
Great lyrics and wow, he's got an awesome voice.
.... and right now the song ended, I thought it was going to be longer than that, it was so good.
Anyway, 9.5, great!

(Yay, you liked the little Arkies )

those guys make me laugh - don't know why.
9ish though!

YAY! I FOUND A FELLOW FAN!
Man, it's so tough liking an unknown artist - there's absolutely nobody to turn to normally it sucks.
I'm very glad I'm not crazy in loving this guy though (and for the same reasons as you said too - great voice and amazing lyrics)
Another example of those traits :

So Ordinary - Ryan Star

That was even better. Better lyrics and even better voice-use (can't really find the words for that ) Great that he gets to use his voice in a song like this. He writes his own songs, right? Sounds like it anyway
Gonna be looking for his music... and thanks for the song btw
While listening to that song, I got this vision - he's sitting on a stage in some arena with lots of people with his piano, and it's night and everyone is putting their lights up... nice

Hmm, I believe I have the same problem as you, running out of good songs here! But this is a really great singer-songwriter I like
This song has great lyrics.

8 - nice

You liked that one too Meandi?! Awesome
The slow ones aren't the only ones Ryan is good at either (I first heard him on Rockstar Supernova doing live rock shows which can be found all over Youtube. A-stounding )

That's so accurate lol . Except I think most of the album with those songs on it was made by Ryan at home over the course of a few nights (or so it says on the album anyway). Entirely written and played by him (he's a purist too lol, thus the lack of instruments aside from piano and voice on most of them.)
His album ("songs from the eye of an elephant") is one of the two albums I've ever bought mostly because I couldn't get ahold of it in any other way . So if you're looking for him in the... conventional ways, that's not gonna get many results lol
So if you're interested, here's what I've got : http://www.zshare.net/download/ryan-star-rar.html (though there's more out there, like his live performances lol)

And now back to the thread

I've got one other "great" song by Ryan left that isn't censored... (stupid cd editors. When I bought it I didn't realize they'd sensor some of the best songs Ug)

lol I like pretty much everything, I'm one of those "all-eaters" when it comes to music. So... when you're looking for a fellow fan, you know where to turn But actually, I'm usually more into rock/pop/punk, you know. So that means that this was very good

I like that this thread really serves it purpose, sharing music and making other people like the music you share. I've really found some great new band/artists here!

"Songs from the eye of an elephant?"
Okay, now that must be the weirdest and also coolest album names I've ever heard But albums with names like that usually are good!
Thank you for the link! I'll be looking for more, that's for sure
How many albums has he released so far, is that elephant album the only one? So I know how much to look for...

And to the song...
Once again, too short ...I want his songs to be longer!
But this was great aswell, I can't believe how good lyrics he can write. I wish I could do that too.
I'll give it 9.2
My favourite is, for now, So Ordinairy

Back to thread, new song!
the ark - tell me this night is over.mp3 - 7.22MB
I've been thinking of making a Charlie vid to this song, but nah... I wouldn't do it justice. Might request it sometime. Because the lyrics are soo good....

....you might notice how much I love great lyrics?

Omg, I think I over-used smileys this time

Ah! Ah! I've heard that song before! I can't remember where, but I know i've heard it. I love it actually - was in my head for the rest of the day. Great lyrics. 8/9

Ohhhh I love this band.. can you blame me?

After they won Outstanding Contribution to Music: http://youtube.com/watch?v=8Ce1bsvpsiI&mode=user&search=
