| Holl, did you try unistalling it then reinstalling it? You might have a corrupted file somewhere in the vegas program. Are you using SP2 for XP? |

No I haven't tried that yet Steph. I'll give it a whirl and see if that helps. Thanks btw. Oh and I use XP.
& DS, I know, it's a pain in the ass. I had to save my clip and upload it for Harry to reverse for me in his Vegas and then upload it back to me. btw Thanks again Harr. You're a lifesaver. _________________

helloo..big vegas dummie here!
how do you zoom in or zoom out a clip?
I know you can zoom as a transition with another clip, but isn't there another way?
How do you fade in or fade out a clip? with WMM it's very easy but with vegas..do you have to make a white or black clip to shove in your clip you want to fade in/out? isn't there a easier way?
please help and sorry for all my mistakes, my english still isn't the way I would like it to be
@Fan4Lost, I just read your tutorials, they're great! I'm gonna try some of them soon! _________________

I can't do reverse now too :/ Do we both have Sony Vegas 7? Cause it might be a problem with the new version. I don't think 7 projects are compatible with 6 though so you won'y be able to downgrade with an exisiting project :/ _________________

uhmmm my vegas trial version has ended and my computer won't install new trial versions. when I downloaded vegas they said I needed a number (you know, the one you get with your programm when you actually buy it..but when downloading illegal, you don't get one)
any ideas? or maybe a download version that comes without the need of a special number? or did you guys all buy vegas? It's not thát cheap _________________

Hi Manon! I'm sorry I didn't see your first post back when you posted it! Sorry that your Vegas trial has ended!
As for your second post, I'm using Sony Vegas Movie Studio 6.0, which is the "baby" version of Vegas 6.0. There are a few "extra" things that it can't do that the full version can but it can do all of the major things. I've found it to be a great (and legal ) alternative. It's just a fraction of the full price -- the full version is several hundred US dollars and Movie Studio usually runs about $70. Though, you can usually find it with a discount and get even more off of it. With the rebates I got off of mine, I got the price down to $10!
Anyway, sorry again that I didn't see your questions in time to try and answer them when it would've done you any good. But I hope you're able to get the chance to work with Vegas again! It works very differently from WMM in many ways but once you figure it out, it's a million times better, in my opinion! Best of luck to you! |

Just a quick question (kinda similar to Manson's)
How do you zoom in? Say I have a clip of Sawyer, how do I zoom in so I am getting closer and closer to his face?
I'm still learning _________________

I hesitate to answer this one just because I do it SO wrong myself, lol!
Okay, I've just sat here for half an hour trying to get it to work and writing down the steps I go through but, honestly, it's so confused that I'm not even going to bother posting it because I'm hoping that somebody else will have a better step-by-step explanation that doesn't involve running the effect backwards then reversing the keyframes...
The short answer: you use the pan/crop tool to zoom in or out. The pan/crop tool is the top button on the right of the clip while it's on the timeline and when you click it, it opens the pan/crop window.
*waits for somebody else to take over from here*
Unfortunately zooming in or out is a lot more complicated in Vegas than it is in WMM where you just click Ease In or Ease Out! BUT once you end up learning the pan/crop tool and how to move things around with it, you'll open up a world of other possibilities for effects and such, far beyond just zooming in and out. |

When you click on pan/crop there is a line at the bottom of that window which is the timeline of that clip. Click on anywhere on that timeline and select create keyframe. Then with that keyframe selected go in and it will make it zoom up to that point. You can edit the position of the keyframe to get it just right on the timeline or with the pan/crop thing. _________________

Aislynn, I really don't mind that you didn't see my post when I posted it, it realllly means a lot to me that you took the time to answer my questions! about buying the baby version of vegas, that's a good idea! Though, I bet vegas isn't that popular in the Netherlands so I won't get it for that little, but I can give it a try because I love the programm!! haha!
Polarbear, thanks for explaining it! I think I get it a little now! and I'm sure I'm gonna try it when my vegas is back thanks! _________________

Can you do the rewind effect (as seen in Leylins 'Tell Me Baby' video) in Vegas? _________________

Elle, to rewind, click on your clip then right click it with your mouse and select reverse. It's a nice effect! _________________

Vegas is giving me a hard time at the moment.
I don't know what happened and how it happend: I wanted to work on my new vid which still has some gaps here and there. I wanted to fill one of these gaps with a new clip and all of a sudden, Vegas moved all the following clips forwards on the video track, almost as if to "make some space" for the new clip. This is awful because it means that everytime I want put in a new clip, all the following clips get moved and I have to put'em back to where they were before.
Does anyone know what might've happened there? I guess I must've changed some settings by accident... how can I fix this?
A huge thank you in advance to whoever can help me with this problem! _________________
