That was kind of cheesy- that she kept trying to leave Sawyer. I think shes in total spook mode now- and its a survival thing that you just try to remove yourself from any emotions. Its not good, but understandable. Maybe the fact that the others took the children that survived scared the crap out of her. I knew Sawyer wasnt going to be the one to die- it would be like killing Kate at this point.

As for being sympathetic for her- how many of us really hated Sawyer when the show started? I know I referred to him as "a**hole guy" before I knew his name officially. And as for the sympathy, I think next week's is what thats going to be about for Ana Lucia- she's like a PR representative gone TERRIBLY wrong. It was dumb.

I feel that Sayid is going to punch her in the face. Thats my guess.

As for the on-going did he or didnt he know? about Locke- I still maintain my stance. He doesnt even seem sorry- I know if I got into a horrible maiming accident with one of my friends- I would at least stick around to see how they were. I think his indifference to it is what gets me the most. And what the hell with the "Boone was a sacrifice" bit? I dont see Ana saying that.

I liked Boone in this episode- kind of a reformed bad boy eh? Smoking, drinking (little flask), long hair- kind of made him way more attractive actually (I have a bad boy thing!). I still dont think he deserved to be conned- I thought it was interesting her saying "I dont want your money!" then, 2 years later, conning him out of his money. Apparently she could have just asked.

I'm looking forward to see some great Sayid-moments, and also a LOT of Shayid-vids. I keep seeing the good in things, I know.....
But what I feel is going to happen is that Sawyer is going to do something, like be the first one to step up to Sayid while he's holding Shannon in his arms... I'm rrally hoping for that. If that doesn't happen I still think Sawyer and Sayid will put up the white flag between them and make up.

I LOVED the Shayid moments in this episode, gosh they were great.

Did you guys notice Jack on the hospital??? He was running past the doctor who spoke to Shannon, you know. I guess you all saw him, right? Pertty interesting though, neither Kate or Jack appeared in this episode. But I guess it was about time they didn't. Everyone else have had that kind of an ep.

And finally... anyone notice the TOTAL lack of Kate in this episode? I think Sun was missing as well. I don't remember seeing either of them once. Jack had his little obligatory hospital cameo, but that was it for him as well as I am sure someone else mentioned. How strange.

Yeah what was WITH CHARLIE? "Tom Cruise IS Charlie Pace!" acting like he knows what its like to be a mother. I was practically a mother to my sisters god-son, TJ (I took care of him as a newborn and a toddler) and Ill admit- I didnt know what to do all the time! But if I had some heroin-addict pipsqueak lecturing me about it, I would have really resented it. Yes for thousands of years women somehow took care of their children without Charlie's help....

BTW- its awesome that I see people using my little "LOST' posters! I made those! LOL!

Last night's ep was a marked improvement over the rest of the episodes so far this season (well, OK, the Locke and Hurley eps were pretty good too!).

This is more like the "Lost" that I want to see! Exciting and intriguing and more on par with last season's eps!

Poor Shannon I had grown to really like her character so it kinda sucks that she had to die. However, the sadistic bitch in me is looking forward to some excellent Sayid-angst in the eps to come

I'm just glad it wasn't Sayid who was killed as he's probably my favorite character (well, he's pretty much tied with Hurley and Locke--and Sawyer, REALLY glad he didn't die either, at least not yet--ok, now I'm worried!).

Note to "Lost" writers: If you introduce a new character and want the fans to accept her and be sympathetic to her, making her kill an established character who, while she wasn't universally liked, was certainly liked a lot more than said new character, WILL NOT ENDEAR THE NEW CHARACTER TO US!!!

I'm giving Ana Lucia exactly one episode to redeem herself (and it's going to take a lot) before I write her off entirely. I tried to like her, I really did. She's just such a bitch ALL THE TIME! I understand that the tailies went through some major shit, but the rest of them have managed to remain nice people (I absolutely love Mistereko and Libby!).

Does she have to be in uber-bitch mode 24 hours a day? I mean serioualy. They could have given her a FEW redeeming qualities.

And speaking of characters with few redeeming qualities, Charlie is grating on my last nerve. I really can't tell whether the writers are doing a horrible job of making Charlie a likeable character or a really really awesome job of making Charlie an unlikeable character. I'm going with the latter for now. Managing to make me loathe and despise the character my favorite actor plays is quite a feat.

I'm really hoping that they do something to redeem him, or at least take him a whole lot darker and edgier so I can at least LOVE to hate him, instead of just hating him.

Claire needs to punch him out or something. I'm SO GLAD she acknowledged how creepy he was being (though not to his face...yet)! If I were her I'd tell him to stay the hell away from my kid and stop telling me how to run my life.

He has no right to get all bent out of shape by Locke hanging out with Claire. He acted like Locke was horning in on his territory or something. You're not Claire's keeper, Charlie, you're not even her boyfriend, she can talk with whoever she wants to talk with. Seriously, Charlie, get a freaking life. And get back on the smack already, you're much more interesting when you're high!

I really enjoyed the flashbacks in this episode. I didn't think I missed Boone (as he was one of my least favorite characters last season), but I guess I did, because it was really nice to see him in this episode.

Shannon's step-mom was such a bitch! She should have at least given Shannon a bit of money just to get her started! No wonder Shannon made it her mission in life to screw over step-mommy-dearest.

I giggled a bit when Muskrat-Jack walked past Shannon in the hospital. God that wig was AWFUL!

Drenched Walt CREEPED ME OUT when he appeared in the tent! No wonder Shannon screamed so loud! Aaaaah!!! *chills*

The Shayid scenes were WONDERFUL! Even though (since I knew what was going to happen--I was spoiled silly, but even if I wasn't, it was pretty obvious they were setting Shannon up to die) they were kinda bittersweet.

Poor poor Sayid! Admits he loves Shannon then she dies like 30 seconds later! That's gotta mess a guy up! *clutches Sayid to bosom*

Probably the main thing that pisses me off about the fact that they killed Shannon is now I don't have a "normal" pairing to ship anymore! I'm usually into slash or messed up pairings or non-canon couples, Shannon/Sayid were my only het, canon OTP I guess it's a sign that I'm just not meant to ship "normal" couples!

Next week's ep looks cool, but I'm kinda annoyed that we have to wait another full week after the next ep to see the continuation of Shannon's death scene.

A couple more episodes like this one and my faith in "Lost" will be restored

Anyways im also pist that they're not gonna start from where they left off yesterday, but instead start over from Ana Lucia's background.

O well, guess it will kind of be interesting, No?

Anyways if they are going to show Ana Lucia's story, you will very likely see Jack back in that episode in her story.

I really liked this episode and even though I figured out who was going to die weeks ago I was still shocked at how they did it. However, unlike others I don't hate Ana-Lucia. I've read some spoilers on what her backstory is and I think there is a lot more to her character then meets the eye. I think she'll be a lot like Kate in what her backstory contains. I believe both characters have big hearts underneath the tough exterior. Ana-Lucia put herself out there to protect the people she was responsible for. While I don't like the fact she was willing to leave Sawyer behind he hadn't exactly given her any reasons to trust or like him. In her position without knowing anything about this mysterious guy that washed up on the beach I probably would have left him behind.

I think we'll see Ana-Lucia have big problems knowing what she did. She didn't kill an "other" but a fellow survivor. I don't care how tough a person you are that is going to effect you in a big way.

I do hope before people judge her completely and make definitive decisions on her they give hera chance. Next week we get to see what has made all these other survivors the way they are. They've had it a lot worse then the survivors we know. We know she seemed like a decent person when she was with Jack at the airport. But it was also obvious she was able to connect with Jack's loss. I'm sure we'll findout the reasons behind that.

But please give Ana-Lucia the same opportunities to be redeemed as you would Kate, Sayid, or even Locke. She deserves the same respect as all the other characters. I think to many people are judging Michelle Rodriguez for her past roles and not giving her a fair chance. She may not be the best actress around but I have a great respect for her because she has taken the chances she has in her career. She has taken those tough roles that you would traditionally see a guy doing. I respect her for that and I think she is a decnet actress. But that is all my opinion.

All I ask is judgement is held off until we know more then the person the island has made her in the name of survival.

I do admit it does suck that Shannon died just as I was starting to like her but the island isn't a safe place so it is to be expected. Her backstory wasn't goig anywhere really so I guess she was the most logically one to go anyway. The other characters still have way to much story to tell.

Here Here...LC! My thoughts exactly. This really was an accident in every sense of the word...Im surprised no one is like blaming "Walt" or whatever that was, or even Vincent, lol. It truly was- I think this is going to haunt AL for the rest of her life. The only reason I dont compare her with Locke is because she seemed remorseful right away. Locke seems to have forgotten everything and just seems merry. Maybe she'll be more like Sawyer now, feeling she deserves whatever comes to her.

That look on her face at the very end was one of pure regret. You could see the transition from shock to regret. As the shot on her cuts away you can almost begin to see some kind of person pain flooding out. People can trash MR as much as they want but it takes a seasoned actor to pull that off with facial expressions alone. She definitely regretted that immediately. She was protecting the people she felt she was responsible for. That includes Sawyer (in a weird way), Michael, and Jin. She took the lead with the gun and if it had been the others she was on the front line. She acted in what she thought was an act to save her group.

Ana-Lucia pulled the trigger but we can't hold that against her considering the circumstances she was under. Not to mention Shannon was not showing the best jungle sense ever. I personally don't blame anyone but "the others" whom I believe planned a signifcant past in Shannons death. They may not have pulled the trigger but they set everything into place for it to happen.

All I ask is people give Ana-Lucia a chance to redeem herself through next weeks episode and through her flashback. Don't judge her before you know her character because that would be like looking at a person and seeing what was on the outside but missing the incredible person underneath. Give her a chance and don't hate her for the same thing I hope anyone of us would do for each other in Ana-Lucia's position.

I don't hate Ana, well not yet anyway. I've liked her since the beginning which is funny because I thought for sure that I would hate her.
Sure she's a bitch but I think thats what makes her character interesting to watch. And has my opinion changed of her because she shot Shannon? No, not at all. I mean she didn't do it intentionally or maybe she did but she did what her instincts told her and she did look shocked and regretful at the end there. It's hard to explain but you know what i mean. I do think she shoud be punished though for her actions, even though it was an accident, but I don't hate her either. I'm sure next weeks eppy will explain why she's such a controlling psychopath. lol.
