I've been meaning to make a thread about Green Day for awhile now. I know there's a lot of people on the board who like them, so I decided to start a discussion! As you guys can probably tell (*cough*from my 3 GD videos *COUGH*), I am a HUGE fan of Green Day. I saw them in early October, and it was the best concert of my life. Absolutely amazing and beautiful in every aspect.

Another reason I wanted to bring up this thread is because I wanted to share their offical Jesus of Suburbia video that came out a few weeks ago. They're working with Sam Bayer again, who I think is a genius. I love his concepts and the videos always come out looks so beautiful. But the JoS one is especially amazing to me, because I think the editing on it is SO cool. The cinematography is cool enough, but the editing makes it that much more interesting.

Green Day destroyed a perfecly good Queen song.. we are the champions.. they make it sound like CRAP... of coaurs.. thats just one mans opinon

I was a pretty big GD fan back in the days of Kerplunk!, Dookie, and Insomniac but their last few alubms didn't impress me as much. Their new album is ok i guess. Their sound just isn't as fresh or exciting as it was.

That vid makes it look like they just wish they could go back and be punk kids again. nothing more sad than aging punk rockers.

I've never been some hardcore fan, or kept track of their songs and albums, but I have yet to hear a song by them I don't like Though I've only heard about 6-7

Woohooo, Green Day rocks!!
I wanted to see them here in Sweden this summer, but the tickets were sold out! A friend went to see them and she said they were amazing live too. I loved their perforamce on the EMAs last week, awesome!!!

I love them and their songs because if you listen to the lyrics, it's sooo incredible how BJ and the others can come up with such amazing songs. Especially Wake me up when September ends (which I am actually listening to right now ) Billie wrote it about how he dealt with his father dying when Bj was 10, and how he deals with it now.
But, for the record, their best song ever is HOLIDAY, period. Switched to that song now, haha

OK. Queen makes it a lot better , I agree. BUT they did it pretty good anyway. A good try to perform a classic song, at least.
