I may be just to hard on myself and I have been away from vidding for a year. but, I get disappointed when I keep getting silvers time and again on some that I work so very hard on. I guess I'm looking for some advice on how to improve my vidding skills.

I would suggest you keep watching other vids, especially those vidders who vid to similar music. It's like reading, the more you read, the better writer you become. Since you use a lot of overlays, maybe look at how other vidders use overlays, be more sparing with it perhaps. Other than that, just keep at it and you'll improve!
