Contest: "Love Me, Love My Fandom"

The Details

To celebrate the fact that LVI now accepts vids for all fandoms, we'd like you to choose one of your favorite fandoms and make a vid that will introduce it to the rest of us! But don't just show us some random scenes, we want to see why it's so awesome! Introduce us to the characters, make us intrigued by its premise and leave us wanting to know more about it! Whether you choose to focus on one or two storylines or give an overview of the entire series/movie/etc., just make sure that it's as understandable as possible to someone who's never seen it before. Your goal is to intrigue us so much, we just have to check out your fandom ASAP! Help us to fall as much in love with it as you are!

We encourage you to choose a fandom other than Lost for this one, but if you simply don't vid any other fandom, then you may use Lost. We're really hoping to get some great introductory vids to different fandoms, though!


The Rules

Specific Contest Rules:
• - Make a vid that introduces the fandom of your choice to people who aren't familiar with it. No multi-fandoms, please; just focus on only one.
• - No AUs, OCs (Original Characters), or crossovers. We want to see what is so cool about the canon of your fandom.
• - Trailers/promos are allowed.
• - Running time should be no longer than 5 minutes. We suggest the 3 - 5 minute range.
• - The more creative, the better. Don't be afraid to take risks.
• - When entering your video on the Submit page, you MUST enter "June 2011 contest submission" exactly in your vid's description.

General Contest Rules:

• - Contest submissions should be entered through the Submit page
• - All regular submissions Rules apply.
• - Only one entry per vidder
• - Videos already submitted and RELEVANT can be submitted again, but we would rather see something fresh. (Please contact a CM if you wish to enter a previously-submitted video)
• - Please do not use Rapidshare or Yousendit as your only hosting place.
• - If you're using Youtube as your primary link, please also provide us with an alternative link. Far too often, YT is either disabled or muted by the time the contest is ready to be judged. Mediafire, zshare and Megaupload are just a few of the sites out there that can be used as reliable backup links.
• - Keep in mind that however you choose to host your video, it must be available to be watched at least until after the deadline has passed. If we can not access your video at the time of judgment it will not be considered.
• - Have fun!

Question - If I were to do Doctor Who, could I choose just to vid the Eleventh Doctor? Just to me it feels completely different to both Ten and Nine.

This sounds like an interesting contest. Just not sure I'll be able to find clips for my other fandom.

Does anyone know where I can find some Haven clips?

Check Multi they might be able to help you there. I've never heard of Haven.

Thanks, I'll check there. Haven's on SyFy.It's coming back for it's second season in July.It's a pretty good show.It's kind of mysterious like Lost.

Yep, you can put your focus on any part of the fandom that you want! Whatever you think would get somebody who didn't know the fandom before to want to watch it after seeing your vid, that's total fair game for you to use! Can't wait to see what you're going to do! ♥!

Are we allowed to use any promotional clips/trailers for the show in our video?The one I have in mind doesn't feature actual clips from the show, it's just a general promo for the show.

I was wanting to use the clip for its audio more than for the commercial itself.
