Lost Video Island

Hey, everyone. First post here -- big fan of the site and of LOST in general.

I had the idea that Regina Spektor's "The Call" would be a perfect companion to a video on Season 6, especially one that focused on the flash-sideways. I think the lyrics were a great fit and was surprised to come here and find it hadn't been done already.

I personally don't have the vidder experience to do it right, but I thought I'd put the idea out there in case anyone was interested. I've quoted the lyrics below:

Wow, I absolutely LOVE that song. -bumps- I used to have the program to do it but got a new computer recently. I really hope someone makes a season 6 montage to this

You know, I heard this song again a few weeks ago and thought exactly the same thing! It would be perfect for the flash-sideways! I have a lot on at the moment, but if nobody else wants to do it I'll have a go at it. Might take a while though :S

If I only had the resources to do it, I would do it

I don't mind waiting however long for it, not at all. I'm glad someone's going to do it

I have a few ideas of my own too, but if you have any ideas you want to throw in there I'd love to hear them

Sorry for this late-ish reply!

I'm sure most of our ideas would be similar since, after all, the lyrics are pretty straightforward and should evoke a sentimental feeling in everyone. Anyway, I was thinking that the video could be a montage of the entire series rather than just the last season. The first part can start with the first season (Locke's moving his toes, maybe?); scenes of strength and understanding.

"I'll com back, when you call me; no need to say goodbye" - that is SO strong! And there are SO many goodbye scenes to choose from, from all 6 seasons. You probably know best what to do

For the verse that starts with "Just because everything's changing", I was thinking of an Oceanic 6 theme, or something similar. I'm sure you have better ideas though!

"Pick a star on the dark horizon" - Jack flying the leaf/plane over the fire?
"and follow the light" - pretty self-explanatory!! haha when I relistened to the song thinking of ideas, I was like "wow, why isn't this about Lost".

Instrumental part: I was thinking of using reunions (Rose/Bernard, Jin/Sun, just a hugfest) or like, recalling memories of each other from the island in S6

"But just because they can't feel it too, doesn't mean that you have to forget" - Locke telling Jack he didn't have a son, maybe? Whatever fits

"Let your memories grow stronger and stronger, 'til they're before your eyes" can you use the Kate/Jack scene for this? ("that's not where you know me from") Pretty please!

(at least the latter part of the verse!)

Don't wanna be too domineering, I'm sure you'll do even better than what I had thought of. Just some ideas, thinking of a video to the song makes me so excited!!

That's alright. Thanks for your ideas! I'll def. take some of them in to consideration! It probably won't be exactly the same but we'll see how it turns out

I'm in the middle of another request atm, and a few other projects, but I'll try and get this started and finished in the holidays next month hopefully!

I didn't do that Jate scene for "let your memories...", I used the other Jack scene instead, and it turned out as more of a finale/flash-sideways vid but hope you enjoy anyway
