To me that's the same difference and didn't Sayid use the phrase "they tortured me" when he told Jack what had happened to him... or am I remembering wrong?

This was SUCH a good episode.

I trust Jacob completely. But that's probably because, I, for one, see him as God. Jacob shouldn't HAVE to tell everyone exactly what's going on. That's called faith. He can't explain to Jack why he has to be there, he has to find it out himself or he'll never believe or fully understand it. And if whatever the "bad thing" that's coming to the Temple is already there, then no, they shouldn't go back and warn everyone, because that would endanger Jack and Hurley, and I believe Hurley is destined to become the next leader. You know, he's getting instructions from Jacob and following them. He doesn't understand why, but doing it anyway.

I dunno. I just get a good feeling from Jacob.

I was SO PISSED that Jack smashed the lighthouse! But then it turns out it was all Jacob's plan, so it's okay. And, God forbid I admit this, but Jack didn't really bother me that much this ep. And I really think it's because Kate wasn't with him. I really think they bring out the worst in each other. (Sorry, Jaters, I really don't mean to offend you guys. )

And OMG CLAIRE! I'm so glad to see her!!! It's so sad that she thinks FLocke is a good guy. I just feel really bad for her, I mean, it must have been terrible for her, because she was left behind and had absolutely NO idea what happened to her baby. I hope things work out happily for her!!

And ummm, yeah, new favorite team ever? Hurley + Jacob! :D:D

He was right. There are some people who A) Need it pointed out B) or are easier to tell what to do. But there are some like Jack who just have to find it their own way.

I too trust Jacob. MIB freaks me out. \

It feels like she never did the 'time jump thing'.

I didn't view it as tortured. I think MIB made her believe she was being torturing for no reason, and manipulated her to want to kill those people. He's twisting around everything that happened.

The basic definition of torture as a verb is "to cause intense suffering" so, regardless of what their intentions were, it was torture by definition.

Either way, I think Claire has been "off" since Sawyer saved her from the exploded Dharma house. I kinda think she was more on the brink of death than we knew, and Flocke/Smokey/Whatever came and "infected" her and that's why she wandered off in the first place.

Alright it was torture. But I believe she was lead to believe it was a lot more painful than it really was by MIB and that they tortured her to kill her, BUT it sounded like she's forgetting parts about what really happened, as the Other told her.

I don't think she was off after that. I think it shocked her. She was extremely off when Locke sees her in the Cabin with Christian. Though I still believe Christian is not the Smoke Monster I think something happened to her. Also I think she died or was dying. For instance Ben and Sayid were shot when they were placed in the water, something had to have happened to her to be placed in that situation. Because none of the others had to go through that. I think that's why she's even more off because they had to take her 'innocence away'.

When Locke saw her with Christian Claire was 'calm and cool' like she is now. She's crazy, but she's calm and she's cool when she talks to people she doesn't overreact with her words like she did in the beginning. Like "Where's my baby" or 'they were going to hurt my baby", she was very Calm when asking about her son, and when she claimed she'd kill Kate if Kate did take Aaron, that's scary.

Ooohhh....I didn't even think of that! But you may be right! Poor thing. I just feel bad that she and Sawyer have both been manipulated to believe that FLocke is a good guy, when he's not. He definitely does not have their bests interests at heart.

Off the topic of Claire, I found AltJack somewhat bearable? He's interesting as a dad. Anyone else think David's mom may not be Jack's ex-wife Sarah? It's just that we never saw her, which I suppose could have something to do with maybe they couldn't get the actress, but her name was never mentioned either......maybe I'm overreaching. XD

Oh how I love crazy Claire and her freaky fake baby! And WTF?! Jack has a son?! I wonder if Sarah is the Mother?!

I figured it was Sarah to be honest. Only because of how she had the pregnancy test in season 2, when I watched it my reaction was "Hmm I guess it was positive."

The actress Julie Bowen is on another show on ABC. So most likely she was not available. She's on 'Modern Family'.

I'm not sure how I feel about this episode and the whole magical mirror in the lighthouse. I didn't learn much from this episode but I'm looking forward to possibly getting some answers next week.

I feel the same way. It was interesting but it's not giving me anything. The mirror was interesting but it didn't explain anything. I wish Jacob would pull a Zack Morris go "Time out" and then explain what the hell is going on here!

I am more intrigued by their flashsideways then I am on what is going on with the island.

Well, I think Jacob's been watching over his candidates all their lives to make sure they're good guys. Then he brings them to the island. That's what *I* got anyway.

I want to know about Richard! And I want to know about Jacob. I hope Jacob gets his own centric episode too. Like was Jacob always on the island, always taking care of it. Did he have a life like his candidates do?

And MIB...When he said he loved someone. Did he really love someone or are Locke's emotions and memories becoming apart of him?

And I want to know if the MIB is simply a smoke monster or if the MIB was his true identity.

Sure they answer questions but they give you knew questions and it makes you feel overwhelmed with even more questions.

Ooo, I kinda liked the magic mirror but I do hope they'll explain it more. Even though now it's broken. LOL!

Nikki- LOL!!! Yeah, I was like when Jin looked inside the cradle. LOL!

Eryn- I am wondering the same thing about David's mom! On the one hand it seems natural that he would end up with Sarah again, although I think the relationship would have had to have formed much earlier than in the original timeline. That kid had to be at least 12 or 13 years old, and I wasn't under the impression his marriage had been quite that long ago in the orignal timeline. But, there are subtle differences in the X timeline, so I still think it could be Sarah. Honestly, I was kind of expecting to see a picture of David and Juliet on the wall.

MysticWondering- I want to know about Richard, too! He seems to be semi-mortal, and I want to know why that's the case yet he doesn't seem to be especially "special". I thought maybe Dogen was the same way, but his appearance in the X timeline seems to conflict with that idea.
