The Details

"Just hear those sleigh bells jingling, ring ting tingling too. Come on, it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you..."

It's Christmas! Yay! Family! Presents! Carols! And a themed LVI Contest; just like the old days. We want to see your Christmas spirit shine in a video about, what else? Christmas! But this months comp has a little bit of a twist. We want Christmas Movie trailers! Let's admit it; we all love a cheesy, Christmas movie around the holidays; so pick your favorite and mash it up it with your fave Losties!

We want actual movie trailer, NOT original trailers. Youtube is a great source of movie trailers and you can download them for free, no signup, using Zamzar. There is also Trailer Download.net but that does require signing up. If you know of any other reliable trailer resources; please share them with your fellow members! We will be using a trailer claiming system so make sure you post it here so it can be saved on the list for you

What qualifies as a Christmas movie I hear you ask? Well, is Santa getting up to some crazy shenanigans? Is a family that's drifted apart going to discover the true meaning of Christmas? Do some cartoon characters have to travel to the North Pole to save the holiday for all the girls and boys? If so; then you've found a Christmas movie!


The Rules

Specific Contest Rules:

* -Make a mash-up movie trailer, NOT an original trailer, to a Christmas movie.
* -No Lost audio, not even just one word, allowed; we'd like to challenge you to use just the trailer audio this month.
* -Must use the original trailer as it is when you download it. Do not BASE a video on a trailer; re-create the actual trailer for Lost.
* -The more creative, the better. Don't be afraid to take risks.
* -Running time should be no longer than the length of your downloaded trailer plus your credits.
* -When entering your video on the Submit page, you MUST enter "December 2008 contest submission" exactly in your vid's Description.

General Contest Rules:

* -Contest submissions should be entered through the Submit page
* -All regular submissions Rules apply.
* -Only one entry per vidder
* -Videos already submitted and RELEVANT can be submitted again, but we would rather see something fresh. (Please contact a CM if you wish to enter a previously-submitted video)
* -Please do not use Megaupload, Rapidshare or Yousendit to host your files.
* -Keep in mind that however you choose to host your video, it must be available for download at least until the end of the month. If we can not access your video at the time of judgment it will not be considered.
* -Have fun! It's Christmas!

This is a GREAT idea!!! I need to think of Christmas movies and what could work!!!

ETA: Would "The Family Man" with Nicholas Cage work??? It's set around Christmas and has that message. I'll claim it if it can.

I'm not sure that 'The Holiday' classifies as a Christmas movie. I know it's based around Christmas; but it's not a Christmas movie which is really the theme. I'll ask the other CM's and get back to you

I've seen "The Holiday" listed as a Christmas film too. I personaly consider it a Christmas film cuz it does lead up to Christmas through out the movie.

Plus, my claim "The Family Man" is part of ABC Family's 25 days of Christmas movies, so I think it works. It's like a twist on "It's a Wonderfull Life".
