I've been trying to submit my contest entry but it keeps telling me my description has special characters.

I retyped the part I had pasted. It had no punctuation at all apart from capital letters but would not let me submit so I removed all apart from the "october 2008 contest submission". It still wouldn't submit.

I often have this problem..what should I do?

Check all of the fields that you're entering in (like the length of the vid, artist name, etc.) and make sure there's nothing that's not just a regular letter or number with absolutely no punctuation in there. Like if you don't know how large the MB size of the vid is, just guess at something like 15 MB instead of putting something like "I don't know." (Not saying that's what you did, but that has tripped that special character warning before. )

If you don't find anything strange in there but it still won't let you submit it, send me all of the info you're entering (or screencap it, if that's easier) so we can see exactly what's in all of the fields, so hopefully we can figure out what's causing the problem.

Don't worry, though, we'll get this fixed and we'll make sure you're entered into the contest! So sorry for the inconvenience!

Hi Becca!

Is that a space in between nobody & wins in the image file name? That's the only thing I see that could possibly be a problem.

It's your picture that's causing the problem. It's in .GIF format and the site can only accept .JPG. So just run it through your graphics program and save it as .JPG and that should do the trick! (And you might want to remove the space, just to be sure. ) *fingers crossed*

I saved my picture in JPG format and removed the space..but still no luck

Hmmm I just entered it and it's gone to the next screen showing me the info before it submits to the site.
