I got Photoshop the other day and, after a lot of vague and random dabbling (that didn't amount to much), I sought help. The amazing Kait gave me a few tips and pointers and here are the results:
They're just a few random icons and stuff. Some are better than others but... yeah. I tried.

Ooh yay!! Really good stuff Freya!! Some of them are a little grainy, but if you save them as PNG files in the future they'll turn out smoother Love the coloring on the Jack and Claire banners, very cute!! <3

Thanks everyone. I'm so glad y'all don't think they suck!
It's weird - Jate are definitely my favourite couple but I think Shayid seem so much prettier in icons. I also think Jack and Achara look overwhelmingly pretty in icons..
And thanks Kait - I wondered why those banners looked so grainy. PNG huh? I'll take that on board.
I was wondering what you all thought about some of the colouring. That's why I made some of the icons twice, with 2 different colour effects - I don't really know which looks prettier. Maybe I could carry on making a coupla versions of each one with different colours? Or does one set look prettier? I'm not sure

UPDATE:
Just a few more icons. I did some more banners this time aswell. I know a couple of em went a bit wrong but I'm quite proud of some of them.
Photoshop is like, my new favourite pastime - I'm taking a brief break from vidding to play with photoshop, especially now I've got some pretty new brushes.

What do y'all think? Again, pointers and tips would be really appreciated -What you think works well and what doesn't would be great. I still don't really know what I'm doing.

I was just this second looking at that - I always need to read tutorials a few times for the words to actually sink in. I'll defnitely give it a try though. It looks really cool.
And thanks - I've spent forever on these so I'm glad you like em. I'm quite proud of them. I think you can see actualy improvement on the first set, despite the fact that they were only uploaded yesterday!

Yeah you really can . It just takes time and practice. To be honest I'm still learning with Photoshop, and I've been using different graphic making software for a couple of years now...Like I always say, there's always room for improvement, and new things to learn. Just keep at it, and you'll have it down in no time

Thanks Sassy. I got some confidence with adding words Whoa, I know! lol - I think it makes em look a little bit better. Bit more interesting. I figured out some of the colouring as well. I was adding too much colour the first time I think.
And brushes! What a ker-azy new world that was! Lol.. I really like photoshop. It's easy to get the hang of, once someone (i.e. the awesome Kait) lets you know about the basics. And of course, the Losties are just too pretty for words which makes it all a bit easier.
