HALLO COUNCIL MEMBERZ.

I have a question that I didn't see anywhere (but I could just be dense. It has been known to happen):

What is the procedure for redoing/resubmitting one of your old videos? 'Will the Wolf Survive?' (Sayid) got yanked from Youtube literally years ago. I'd like to redo it sometime if I keep doing this (since it's the one happy/bouncy song I've ever found that works well for him), but I'm not sure how to resubmit it without screwing up the search engine et al. Would it just be different files with (Remake) in the title, same song listing, and obviously different links/lengths/etc.? Also, would it count against my five monthly videos? Thanks!

i've resubmitted one of my videos, and what i did was go into questions, concerns and complaints, and asked them to remove the video from my account, and then uploaded my new verison

Kate, it's definitely fine to remake one of your older vids. We suggest putting "(remake)" after the title to let people know that this is, indeed, a new version. Also, since the original is no longer available, we can remove that from your profile like Tammy mentioned, if you want, though it's not required.

And yes, that will count towards your 5 regular vids (plus 1 contest vid) per month quota.

Hi everyone,

This question is regarding my latest vid "Somewhere Only We Know." This vid was submitted 3 days ago.

So far it has 3 VP votes and no council pick ribbon either. I do, however, have 3 positive reviews.

I'm not sure if this vid was judged for a CP yet or not, but given that I have neither a CP or a VP scoring to base it on, I was wondering if this vid could be improved. (I'm assuming that it didn't receive a CP because vids below and above me in the queue have received CPs.)

Feedback, via this thread or PM, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm sorry about that, Maria! It hasn't got a CP yet because not enough CMs have voted on it yet. It was only submitted about 3 days ago so that'll be why (it can sometimes take even longer depending on how much free time CMs have for voting) It should get one soon, sometimes it just takes a while especially if there's a lot going on in RL! I haven't caught up on vid-watching in a while, for example, for just that reason

Oh, I see. No need to apologize, hon! I just assumed that judges watched the vids and voted based on the order in which the vids were submitted. And when I saw vids that were posted after mine with CPs, I thought mine didn't get one.

I will continue waiting patiently then.

Yes, since this has been brought up, there's no specific order in which the CMs vote on vids. So if your vid does not yet have a CP although more recent vids do, that doesn't necessarily mean your vid will not get one soon after.

I hope I can ask this in this thread. Are we allowed to upload videos that you're not sure of the song or artist? I found a music piece that I really like and wanna make a video with, but I don't know who it's by or the name of the song. It doesn't have any lyrics so I can't look it up and my phone didn't know what it was either via my song ID. I would like to upload it here when it's finished, so I wanted to ask if we could put "Unknown" in the name of the song/artist slot when adding a video to the site?

ETA: I had a look at existing videos and saw that there are already several with "Unknown by Unknown" listed as the song/artist. The most recent was just a few months ago, so I'm going to go ahead and say that's just fine, Summer.

I was reading thru the past comments on this and was wondering do CM's have to view a video? I am sure a CM has to watch it to approve it to the site,but I am curious if no one comments or votes on a vid does it just stay in limbo???

Also I really appreciate all the CM's you guys are truly awesome in taking time to watch vids!!

Hey, Nikki Yes, CMs review every vid that comes on site and we watch/vote on every vid so that every one receives an award on their video! No vid should be left in limbo! If your video hasn't received a comment/award yet it probably will soon! Hope that answers your question
