Yeah so i tried sending in a new video to this site and it said my file was too big! I guess I'll get over it but i'm pretty annoyed, cuz i luv it 2 death! Anyone else have a vid that couldn't get uploaded and is way too attached to it to want to change it to make it a smaller mb size?

Mine was 23.3 MB (I know, big) but it's only cuz of effects n stuff, it's only just under 3 min long....did not think it would be a prob.

Can I get an AMEN someone?! lol

If you read the hosting guide, you'll see that Putfile isn't the only option. You can use Rapidshare, which doesn't work QUITE as well, but at least it can hold videos of 30MB or smaller, which should be more than enough

Alternatively, if you don't like Rapidshare because it doesn't work for everyone, you could reduce the size to under 10, put it in putfile, then offer the big one over yousendit or rapidshare to anyone who wants it!

At least that way the dial-up users can watch it too...

When l first started sending in and submitting vids here, l also didn't like changing the file size but now l don't mind it at all. lt doesn't bother me so much anymore. Sure the vids are a little blurry but you could always upload the bigger size through YSI or RapidShare for someone later if they wanted the bigger size l mean. Warren uploaded 2 of his vids and they were both like huge ass files. The one was something like 75 MB...LOL. BTW, l burned both of them Warren. Thanks again for doing that.

Anyway Putfile is awesome. l love being able to just view the vid first without having to actually download it. Plus, the bigger the file size is, the more hard it will be for people to download it. But l guess theres no harm in it.

You can compress the file size dramatically by using programs like Dr. Divx of Sorenson Squeeze. Both are awesome and if you play with them and tweak this or that you don't loose too much quality.

Another suggestion when compressing is to descrease the frame size. Many videos I see from this site are large (bigger than 400pixels by 400pixels). Just because the frame size might be small doesn't mean it won't be good. And often times the bigger framed videos have to give up more quality. I myself prefer clarity.

This site hosts your fan made videos for free. That's pretty amazing. And there's a LOT of content on this site. If they didn't have limits, this site would have to shut down.

I already uploaded through Rapidshare and Yousendit...when i went to submit it into THIS site it said it was too big!

Thanks for the suggestions! It'll be painful, seriously, but i'll try to compress the size!
