Okay, so I downloaded some new fonts, and now everytime I try to use the text tool, the thing shuts down on me!
Sometimes I get far enough that the text box comes up, but then when I try to fiddle with the Stroke/fill it closes. Or try to change the font. Then I opened up a new image to put text on, and it worked. Then it didn't.
It is going haywire on me!!!
Any explanation for this? Is it a corrupt font or something???

this exact thing happens to me all the time and sorry to say i dunno how to fix it  i have noticed that it is specific fonts so i just steer clear of them. i think its psp; not the font cos i can use the font in WMM, vegas, Word, etc. Sos this is happening to you, too!

I download fonts all the time and that's never happened to me, but I have PSP 8. What version do you have, Kat? Is it 7, or what?

Actually, my uncle brought his copy over and installed it on my computer a while back, so I don't have a link...maybe you can find a trial link somewhere tho. Sorry about that.

dang... i've been using PSP 7 for like five years almost, so i'm reluctant to switch to 8... but if you're considering it Kat, maybe I should...
I finally got it to work but ugh- it'll probably happen again!
AND this security scan kept scanning my computer, and before it always said, '3 risks detected' but now it says 24!!!!!!!!!! I wonder if it's the fonts???

I don't know. How annoying, Jourdan! At least you finally got it to work. Wow, 5 years? No wonder your art is awesome! I've had Jasc for a while, but didn't start using it more until recently. I still don't know how to use it to it's full capacity. lol

Lol yeah I got the program in like 8th grade and learned all the ropes and kept making graphics until the start of freshmen year... then I got a life... then when I started vidding I started making icons and banners again! So I didn't do anything for like three years... except like edit my own photos.
Trust me though, you just telling me how to feather made my stuff like a MILLION times better! I could never blend images before!

BAH!!! It's happening AGAIN!
This time it's f-ing up fonts that ALWAYS WORK, cause of the stupid other ones!!! i'm going crazy.
Annny suggestions? If I get PSP8 will this madness cease!?

Oh my god, it's so bad that if I even open the text tool, it aborts. I can't find a way out of this!!!!!!

Hurry and delete your new fonts! Or at least put them in a different folder for now until you can figure what's going wrong. Maybe if you get them out of the fonts folder and they aren't being used, it will stop...

Jesus okay, I deleted the stupid fonts- still I really liked them It's working though now at least, THANK GOD!

I figured that would work, but sorry about your fonts. Maybe you can try downloading some new ones from a different site? Does that work? Or were your other ones from separate sites already?  If they weren't, try this one - TypeNow.net
It has some cool stuff.

I'd also suggest just installing one new font at a time, seeing if it works okay, then installing the next, etc. That way if the program goes crazy after you install the next one, you'll know right away which one it is! 
It's still so very frustrating when that happens! On my older computer, I installed a bunch of new fonts and when I opened my PSP 8... the entire computer crashed! I remember I just cried my little heart out 'cause I thought it was never going to come back on again, lol! |
