Contest: Melodramatic Romance
Deadline: March 3rd (extended! )


The Details:

Ah, romance is in the air... And where there's romance, there's usually a good dose of melodrama! For this contest, we'd like you to take that melodrama to the extreme. Think about soap operas or telenovelas for your inspiration! Use subtitles, title cards and audio if you'd like in order to get your story across. Is Sawyer a scheming billionaire and Claire is Kate's evil twin who wants to cheat him out of the money he inherited from Ben, his gay, five-times divorced father? But Claire is secretly in love with Locke, the dashing sportsman who's trapped in a loveless marriage with Danielle, an eccentric heiress who may or may not be Sawyer's real birth mother and who has a burning love for Jack, her dapper manservant?

Well, we want to hear all about it! The wilder, the more outrageous, and the more you make us believe your story of romantic melodrama, the better! Sell us your tale of melodrama and make us gasp, make us sob, make us sigh!

The Rules

Specific Contest Rules:

• -Tell an overly melodramatic story of romance
• -Running time should be no longer than 5 minutes. We suggest the 3 - 5 minute range.
• -The more creative, the better. Don't be afraid to take risks.
• -When entering your video on the Submit page, you MUST enter "February 2008 contest submission" exactly in your vid's description.

General Contest Rules:

• -Contest submissions should be entered through the Submit page.
• -All regular submissions rules apply.
• -Only one entry per vidder.
• -Videos already submitted and RELEVANT can be submitted again, but we would rather see something fresh. (Please contact a CM if you wish to enter a previously-submitted video)
• -Please do not use Megaupload, Rapidshare or Yousendit to host your files.
• -Keep in mind that however you choose to host your video, it must be available for download at least until the end of the month. If we can not access your video at the time of judgment it will not be considered.
• -Have fun!

So, I think I'm going to do something with the Young and The Restless theme song. I've been watching that soap since I was 7...LOL so I have to do it...now I just have to come up with a storyline.

Ok.. no-one get over excited but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna enter this contest! Yep, that's right - Contest Virgin coming through!
I'm like, the slowest vidder ever though so I'm gonna have to pick up the pace. I may have to take a break from being a lazy bum!
So as long as it has a kinda soap-opera-ey theme, you can basically do whatever, right?
