Firstly I'm not 100% certain it's true. Remember the supposed Claire opening episode last year?
Multiple sources confirm that the first episode is indeed Sawyer-centric as revealed by the spoiler we posted a few days back. (posted below)
Jacobe reveals: I live in Kalihi, Hawaii. Yesterday, Lost was filming on N King Street by the Discount Store and Tamashiro Market, for those that live in Hawaii. I was able to spot Josh Halloway (Sawyer). So I'm assuming a Sawyer flashback. OR maybe a flash-forward? The scene involved a car being chased by two police cars, leading to the first car to jump a ramp and crash.
I don't want a Sawyer flashback/forward  unless its something other than conning (then it might be good)
As I said at the top, may be true, may not.

Don't you mean supposed Kate opening episode? 
I would love to see a Sawyer flash-forward episode but like you I am suspect of the authenticity of the spoiler considering the Kate one last season. It would be a bit of a joke if Jack got another premiere after 3 episodes last season though.

I'm sure I remember it being Claire  cause it surprised me that they ever would open a season with a character thats basically hardly there.
I want a jack opener  When I realised it'd be unlikely I was boring my nana saying "well that would just ruin the tradition!"

| TBH honest, if this is the episode Claire finds out about Charlie then maybe it should be Claire centric? Maybe the loss of Charlie will trigger similar memories? |
