Lost Video Island

Because I'm still bored, I've got a second vid in mind for the time being, but it's one where I need to have about 5 opening seconds of gradual/build-up noise. I tried clipping it and the song starts way too abruptly, and the gradual/build-up noises eventually make a full sound, like an orchestra tuning up.

Does anyone have any good tips/tricks/techniques for footage to go with the silence? I don't want it too quick, but I also don't want to do recognizably cliche slo-mo, so anything that would help get my footage through those first five gradual seconds is welcomed. Advice?
