Contest Name: Unusual Romance

Contest Deadline: February 28th

The Details:

February is the host month to the only nationally celebrated holiday dedicated to love and romance.

Over the last two seasons Lost has given us some unforgettable romantic couples. This month we offer up a challenge to honor Lost love but not in the traditional way. While we love all of the standard couples set up by the show we feel that itâ€™s time to see what other possible love connections exist amongst the characters.

The challenge is to put together a story about either a new budding love or an established relationship. This CANNOT be any of the standard couples mentioned above or showcased on the show. Be original, you can use any original pairings including slash pairings. You do not have to confine it to two characters as in if you wanted to create a love triangle but again you CANNOT use any established relationships from the show.

Here are some tips. Create a new video and donâ€™t submit a video you may have already put on the site. Make the pairing original and be creative with telling the story. This does not have to be a music video but if you choose to do a dialogue-based story please pay attention to your audio editing because bad audio editing takes off points during voting. Most importantly be original because that will be what sets your video apart from others.

To help, here is a list of character pairings that CANNOT be used in this contest:

Jate (Jack/Kate)
Skate (Sawyer/Kate)
C/C (Charlie/Claire)
Sin (Sun/Jin)
Michael/Sun
Rose/Bernard
Shoone (Shannon/Boone)
Shayid (Shannon/Sayid)

The Rules:

Contest submissions should be entered through the Submit page and all regular submissions rules apply! The following rules apply only for this contest.

-Running time must not exceed 5:00.

-Be creative

-Videos made prior to the contest can be submitted as long as they fit the criteria, but we encourage vidders to make unique entries for the contest

-When entering your video on the Submit page, enter "February 2006 contest submission" for the description.

-Keep in mind that however you choose to host your vid, it must be available for download at least till the end of the month. If we cannot access your video at the time of judgment it will not be considered.

but this is a pretty general contest idea here, as long as Liz's coupling is unconventional it fits all the parameters

*has a Sawyer/Sun vid to finish, has plans to try a Hurley/Shannon vid, and has been meaning to attempt a threesome (current threesome in mind: Kate/Claire/Charlie; but it's changed repeatedly since I got the idea) vid to "Tango: Maureen"*

Quick question - Are we allowed to use deleted scenes from the DVDs in videos entered in a contest?

I never entered in one of these contests, but I was actually thinking of making a Sayid/Kate vid someday (I know it's kinda weird, but I like them together), so I might actually do it now and see how it goes...

I think I might even have a song already... hmm... *runs off to check song*

Hmmmm....I just may submit my Jaire vid if I don't get another one done in time. Buuuut it would be more fun to have a completely random couple like Salt (sawyer and walt) Okay that's sick.

Ooo...I'm really excited...I think I'm actually going to sit down and get completely creative with this one...I've had this awesome idea for a Sawyer/Claire vid for ages but never got around to making it...Guess now I have to get off my butt and get to work!!!!

I can't wait to see all the other entries!
